You have 3000 chips, say. Blinds are 200 - 400 and you have AK. You are UTG, what do you bet? I would say about 1200. 2.5 to 3x the big blind in that situation will make all but serious good starting hands fold. If you get re-raised what do you do? You know its very likely the re-raise has a very good starting hand. With AK you may well call, in DYM I would probably fold - yes fold with an AK. I've still got 1800 chips left if I fold

Raise/folding with AK in late stages is simply not profitable

Yes, agreed with Shanx and Fail.... I dunno what it is but people must think I'm rubbish and keep coming here giving me bad or really basic DYM advice lol. I more than welcome advice from the likes of JC, Shanx, Fail, seasoned winners, but no offence but I think I'm better than about 80% of the people I've seen at this level so far.

If it's not relevant just ignore it m8'ty, can't really stop people posting on a public forum but you can ignore )

Yeah I know, it's just funny more than anything, people being patronising and explaining to me that DYMs are about 'survival and not coming 1st place' lol, like I didn't realise that about 300 games ago. I more than welcome good useful advice but stuff like that is like saying to Tikay don't open limp into a hand lol.

Aint had a session for a day or two now, but did have a forum SnG £2 PLO last night with a few regs like IrishRover and Shanxta and managed to come 2nd and have a bit of fun.

Gonna get a good session in tonight after my dinner.

    Hello Chaps,

Pretty decent session tonight if not a bit on the short side. Played 8, won 6. I did come 2nd in a £2 PLO SnG with some of the forum regs but I won't be including that in my profit/winrate etc (not like it would make any sort of noticable difference lol)

    Played          330
    Won             188
    Profit/Loss    +£65.78
    Win Rate       56.97%

Only managed to get £15 in C4P last month, but definitely aiming to beat that this month, and definitely need to get myself up a few places in the STT leaderboard this month to put myself in good shape for the final month of the quarter.

Yeah you gotta deal with them bad beats cos obviously the more you play, the more they happen. I've had many a race where I've got a bigger PP than the villian and they've still won.

I was playing 2 tables at a time as that's what JC recommends in his guide if you only have about 22 BIs for the level you're playing at. I've stepped it up to 3-4 tables recently but once I get my BR to about £250 and can play £11 games, I'll be going back to 2 tables til I get the roll up again.

    Evening all,

Had a few days off to spend some time with the family on the weekend but managed to get another little session in tonight. Played 10, won 6. Not bad, I'm a fiver up.

    Played          379
    Won             214
    Profit/Loss    +£56.30
    Win Rate       56.46%

Not a bad session, shame I couldn't fit a few more games in but oh well. Finally got my £15 C4P as well, so got my BR up to £219, gonna move up to £11 DYMs as soon as I can my BR just a tiny bit bigger.

It's not when you play micro stakes, I used to float between 4NL and 10NL and the C4P at that level is pretty rubbish.

Just read the whole thread, good read, hope DYM's keep going well for you. I've just started playing at £5.50 occasionally, so might see you on the tables soon :D

    Evening all,

Bit of a frustrating session, I was playing 2 at a time and I kept crushing one table and losing another so I ended up playing 10 and winning 5... bit annoying bit could be worse.

    Played          389
    Won             219
    Profit/Loss    +£51.30
    Win Rate       56.30%

Bit frustrating really I played pretty well so just gotta wait for the tables of variance to turn a bit.

    Evening all,

Finally my run bad has ended, I've weathered the storm and come out smelling of roses....eventually lol. So tonight I managed to play 15 and won 11 of them :)

    Played          404
    Won             230
    Profit/Loss    +£78.80
    Win Rate       56.93%

Funny that I was saying last night about how I just need the tables of variance to turn and they finally have. I've broken the 400 game work, and made a tidy profit of almost £30 tonight. BR is now up to £242.18 so tomorrow night I'm gonna have 2 bites of the cherry at the £11 games. Wish me luck and hopefully I'll never look back!

Yeah, it's been alot of fun though. I can see why alot of people think they're boring but I like challenging myself so I've enjoyed the fact it's really tested my discipline and concentration.

I tried them over a year ago when trying to build up my br. took advice from Irishrover amongat others. Admittedly it was only at the micro levels then where the rake is a killer to profit. Managed to stick at it for a while but didn't have your discipline or concentration then. I think that those things will benefit you long term. Do you think it has/will aid you in tournaments?
