In Response to Re: DYM Diary! Lambert's In Town : I tried them over a year ago when trying to build up my br. took advice from Irishrover amongat others. Admittedly it was only at the micro levels then where the rake is a killer to profit. Managed to stick at it for a while but didn't have your discipline or concentration then. I think that those things will benefit you long term. Do you think it has/will aid you in tournaments?

Yeah the rake at the lower levels is definitely a killer. Plain and simple, at my level I'm in a decent profit, if I was playing the lower levels with 20% and I'd won the exact same amount I've won at this level, I'd have made a pretty decent loss.

Yeah I definitely think it's gonna improve my MTT game. I've been too busy playing these to play any MTTs so aint tested it out yet but there's so much time in DYM's spent playing with a shortstack that it's definitely gotta improve the way I play in later stages of an MTT.

Hi Lambert, glad to hear your luck is turning a little bit, good luck in the £11s tonight sir, hope you can kick on!

Didn't go as well as I'd liked at the £11 games. Lost the first one, then won my 2nd, I was in really good shape to cash the 3rd but I got a bit blinded down, then I shoved and walked into AA who slowrolled calling... he was last to act everyone else was out, he had me covered and he had AA, so it was either that or he was multi-tabling lol but oh well.

I'm not downhearted or anything, I know it's just the way it goes sometimes. BR is down to £230 tho so I'm gonna do the sensible thing and move back to £5.50s.

I'll post my results for the night later.

    Good luck at £11!

I'd be interested in your opinion on whether or not you feel there is much difference in standard at that level?

Well I didn't notice much of a difference in the standard but playing 3 games does not really put me in a position to give an opinion lol. Plus I'm used to seeing Shanxta and JC round my £5.50s so it wasn't much of a big deal to some people I know to be REGs like Splashies...

Yeah, after about 5 secs of waiting, I had it in my head 'even if he calls, I'm not gonna be in that bad shape'.... little did I know lol.

    Evening all,

Well as I said above, it wasn't a great start to my £11 games but oh well, I know it can happen, and I'm sure I'll be giving it another go tomorrow or the next day so it doesn't worry me too much. As I mentioned above I didn't see much difference in standard in the games I played, it just wasn't my night. So at the £11 level I played 3 and won 1, then I stepped back to £5.50s and played 6, won 3, so a small loss there as well but nothing I'm too worried about.

I'm not gonna differentiate between stakes in my figures below...

    Played          413
    Won             234
    Profit/Loss    +£62.80
    Win Rate       56.67%

    November Poker Points   = 472
    League Points = 1626

Argh!! The run bad has definitely come back to me tonight.... didn't go away for very long!!

Pretty early on in the session and already I've shoved KK and walked into AA, then shoved 1010 and walked into KK, both times they flopped their set just to make it a bit sweeter lol

Then in my last game, on the bubble, it's been folded to me on the SB, I shove with KQ, BB calls with QJ for about 90% of his stack and turns the jack...

    Urgh!

And now 99 v TT... ohhh dear lol
  • edited November 2011
Oh my god, 30 seconds after that, I had 99 again, shoved and got called by 88 this time...for him to then flop the 8!!

    Hello all,

There were MANY more bad beats/coolers apart from the one's mentioned above. Excluding them above, I shoved 99 into QQ (twice!) and JJ into KK, lost all three, then JJ into A2, lost again. I am not exaggerating but I did not win a single flip or 60/40 tonight. Everytime I was cashed was due to just not being involved in hands on the bubble lol. It was a horrible night to say the least.... Played 22 and won 8

    Played          435
    Won             242
    Profit/Loss    +£21.80   (I didn't know if I should include C4P in this, it's £36.80 if I do)
    Win Rate       55.63%

As I said, a really horrible session tonight, so much for the end of the run bad... it got to the point where I dreaded shoving 99 BvB with 10BBs but I still did it cos I know I HAVE to but it's just painful being outdrawn again and again.

    November Poker Points   = 582
    League Points = 1682

wow that is a bad run m8 sorry to hear it i went through a bit of a nightmare on sit n goes but managed to get it back on dym and decided to 4 table really prefering doing that but still lost a lot of flips with QQ ect running into KK and the amount of times players hit there set while i had top pair was just crazy. Keep at it m8 just had a bad night i would suggest if its going that bad i would stop earlier and try next day.

Thanks Dazler, I'll be taking a break tonight and tomorrow but I'll be back (hopefully with better luck) on Sunday. To be honest, I honestly don't think I could run worse than I did last night so the only way is up lol.

Good luck with your SnGs by the way.

Don't forget to keep an eye on the thread cos I'll be back up there before ya know it!

    Hello all,

It's been quite a while since I've played any of these, took a break for a couple of days, then I spent a night organising the HU championship and playing the DTD, where I managed to spike a 2nd place in the TOT so that £55 cash almost covered the terrible session I had on DYMs last time. Tonight I've played 9, only won 4, bit of a shame to be down but just a few hands that didn't go my way.

    Played          444
    Won             246
    Profit/Loss    +£27.30   (I am including my C4P)
    Win Rate       55.41%

    Hello all,

Only a very small session but I won the first one, then lost 4 in a row and I really wasn't feeling it so I thought I'd stop there to save my BR. So played 5 and won 1.

    Played          449
    Won             247
    Profit/Loss    9.80
    Win Rate       55.01%

So I am now technically in the minus with my DYM profit/loss because I've included my £15 C4P in the profit above. How depressing...
