Top of the pots

edited November 2011 in Poker Chat
Several times over the last few weeks I have personally witnessed pots on Mastercash 20 (2.50/5) that were substantially bigger than #1 on TOTP. The table does have a TV icon, so how come those pots sren't shown? From memory I think I saw a £4.8k pot between LOL-Raise and Sparce some time during the last 7 days.

nah ur lieing that hand never happened

Maybe one of them had a bigger stack then the other so it said 4.8k although the effective stacks meant the pot was actually a lot lower?

    From the 20th November:

    SIRENE & sam1986           £3,532
    LOL_RAISE & SIRENE       £3,522

The biggest pots don't always make the most interesting poker. It just means you have players with more money to splash around than us mere mortals. How about a Best Hand of the week and/or a Bad Beat of the week added in just to spice it up .

    All noted.

"Best Hand Of The Week" is awkward, because "best" is so subjective, & one individual has the onerous task of selecting it. Knowing how critical & moany poker players are by nature, we'd struggle to get that one right!

As to featuring "Bad Beats of the Week", I would counsel 865 very strongly against such a feature, it's just un-natural & unhealthy to my way of thinking to glorify Bad Beats, we see too much chuntering about them from the less-informed players already, they need to accept they are just part & parcel of poker, & if they do not realise that, thay are never going to enjoy their poker, or be profitable. I've rarely met a winning player who bellyached about Bad Beats.

We have some new shows coming soon which include best hands from the week across tournament and cash play.

As Tikay said its very objective on what is a good hand or bad one, but hopefully the new shows will cover a variety of different areas

I must say that 'bad beats' would be a bit nasty to the player involved , but on the FLIP SIDE at least the show would have millions to choose from ;))

Not at all, Mr Loony, in fact, I have graciously been given "honorary access" to the Team 51 Facebook Page (very good it is, too) so I see the comments at first hand, & comment as & when I see fit. With one notable exception, who complains every single day about every single thing, as a collective, they don't do bad beat stories or conspiracy stuff, I find it very positive, & educational.
