OK, 2 hours playing 2 full-ring tables and I lost a little bit of money- but not a lot.
It was fairly straightforward to play but I definitely take James' point, it's not for action junkies. You'd have to get 4 of those tables open to get the same level of engagement as two 6 max tables.
I think 10 seaters are good to play in the background whilst doing other things, watching TV, writing emails etc, so you only play a hand every now and then and you're happy to fold away, instead of being tempted to play hands you shouldn't because you're bored.
The other good thing of course is that when you do hit your hand, you're more likely to get action as there are more opponents around to take an interest.
OK, taking a short break now and then I'll be back on the 6 max!

I believe thats what they said after the Sky Xmas Party The difference between Orford and a Coconut? You can get a drink out of a Coconut! Not the sort of thing anyone would admit ! Except Orford, obviously! Only Joking Ho Ho Ho Posted by DUNMIDOSH
Very funny Pete. Everyone will find that amusing (except Orford obviously) ;-)
why u support so much cash tables.the main profit for sky is only MTT and STT.gl Posted by martin111
Hi Martin- fair question although I've been doing nothing but MTTs for the past 2 years on Sky and prior to that I played STT DYM's for a year.
This is the first time I've played cash in absolutely ages. So it's a bit of a novelty for me.
As for where the profit is made- I don't have access to those figures, but I'd be highly surprised if across the industry cash wasn't the main source of profit on poker sites.
I'd be happy to be corrected though on this point.
Ok, not the most profitable of sessions- lost an early buy-in but then held steady for the next two hours and ended with the damage having been lessened overall.
Been great fun tonight and I've doubled up on Mastercash 11. Pretty scary playing all the big boys though- requires nerves of steel! Posted by RicOrford
Dont worry about the big boys mate all you have to watch out for is Will48 lol
Be afraid . . . . . BE VERY AFRAID

Cheers Martin.
Yes, I think Will48 might be a wind-up merchant.
And thanks for the comments re-the cash crusade. I've really enjoyed playing cash again and also playing with my own money. Certainly sharpens the senses!
Overall have taken £100 to £400 during the month so happy with my work.
Year by year, my poker improves.
My bankroll management remains as ever, completely woeful though!
Like Richard, I've been putting in some extra hours at the cash tables. During the last week, I've played a number of sessions, at various times of day, at the new 'Action' tables (initially at the 10p/10p level and then at 20p/20p). And here are the results:
15/12 -£0.16
17/12 -£10
17/12 +£31.36
18/12 +£1.47
20/12 -£8.06
21/12 +£1.96
21/12 +£1.70
22/12 -£0.98
22/12 +£13.16
So, a net PROFIT of £30.45. Boom!
Now, a few observations:
1) Each of these sessions was, on average, 30 minutes long. Playing for less time, but on a more frequent basis, makes a pleasant change. It clearly had a positive effect on my game and ROI. So, I'd like to thank LOL_RAISE for his Top Tip!
2) I think "moving down" to these limits was a good idea, after a series of heavy losses at the 25p/50p tables. Besides, when you consider my bankroll, these are the limits I SHOULD be playing.
3) The 'Action' tables suit my style (i.e. an impatient need to play every other hand). I've also started to take a mercenary approach towards short-stackers, which, for the most part, is paying off.
I still haven't concluded which is the best time of day / week to play. I will continue my analysis, as we enter the fourth and final week of the Cash Crusade.
What's the best time of day to play? What do you make of the new 'Action' and 'Deep' tables? Do you ever choose a table based on the size of the average pot? Do you prefer a table of full stacks, or a table of shallow stacks? Do you prefer to play heads-up? If so, are there are players you look to avoid?
My "research" continues on Boxing Day. I'll be playing 'Action' tables, 'Deep' tables and a bit of heads-up cash. So, see you on Monday 26th at 7pm.
Hope you enjoyed your Christmas and are having a restful Boxing Day.
I'm meant to be on PTP duties this evening, continuing with my Cash Crusade. Please be advised that my plans could be thwarted by THIS. Power cuts are a frequent inconvenience, so, if I disappear completely from the tables and forum, you know what's happened!
Assuming I'm able to stay on-line, I'll be playing a variety of cash tables. On Christmas Eve, I had two further winning sessions at the 20p/20p 'Action' tables. So, I intend to move up a level to the 30p/30p limit - and that's where I'll be starting my evening.

You're welcome, I am feeling much better thank you
There isn't much action on the 'Action' tables this evening (anyone would think it's the day after Christmas!), but I managed to get a 3-4 handed game going at Action Table 21 and played heads-up (first against Boonicon, then against TOOTRUE) at Action Table 24. And after 40 minutes...
Action 21 +£10.42
Action 24 +£8.51
A pretty good start to the evening. As previously mentioned, I love this format. There's plenty of post-flop play and multi-way pots - and loads of opportunities to gamble. Yes, that's a good thing. After all, how else am I going to win?!?
Deep Stack 25 broke up, with player after player abandoning his/her seat - even though I was spewing left, right and centre! Actually, to be fair, I was on relatively decent form, and my losses at this table (-£15) can be attributed to 75% bad luck and 25% bad play.
I still have a seat at Deep Stack 14 - and will stay there for another 20-30 minutes.
Just left Deep Stack 14...-£2.58 It's tough to assess how the new 'Deep' tables play when everyone else is sitting on <100bbs!
Alas, my profit at this 10p/20p table was obliterated (and then some) by a nasty coup which saw my QQ cracked by A6 - with an A on the river. However, in my opinion, I played the hand pretty well: I put in a hefty 3-bet pre and made a 3/4 pot c-bet on the flop. Arguably, I should have bet more than half pot on the turn (there were straight and flush draws out there), but at least I had the sense to check back the river when the A hit!
Coalburn (15p/30p): once again, my opponent bought in for £12, while I was playing the maximum £30.
This one went the distance. In fact, at one stage, my opponent gained the chip advantage. However, I was able to learn from his betting patterns and, ultimately, get the better of him for his stack.
An epic match at Carmichael (25p/50p) against Boonicon. We both bought in for £50, and, every time Boonicon dipped below £45, he topped up. For most of the game, I had the upper hand (at one stage I was up to £80). But, he chipped away and chipped away, until all the money went in on a J-9-7-5-3 board. I had J8. He had J3 ftw.
I was left with a few quid. I decided not to top up, but gamble with my short stack. The gamble paid off a couple of times, until I eventually lost the lot (JQ<KQ aipf). Still, I really enjoyed the game and, for the most part, feel that I held my own.
Have to say...win or lose, heads-up is a LOT of fun. Yes, it's probably more fun when you're selective about your opponent and play against a total fish, rather than a 50nl reg, but that last game was a real test of skill. There's a few hands I played - and a few bluffs I pulled off - that I'm really proud of.
If, like me, you enjoy being in the thick of the action and aspire to play a lot of hands, then heads-up cash could be the game for you.
