Sky Poker forums will be temporarily unavailable from 11pm Wednesday July 25th.
Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
Want to be on TV? NOW? Playing Poker?
I am standing in for Mother, who is unwell today, so bear with me.
She has been working very hard on a Project which would mean some Cash Tables on Sky Poker were broadcast LIVE, as it happens, non-stop. (No commentary).
Everything is almost sorted, & the LIVE TRIAL is scheduled for 1pm today.
No Guarantees, da de da, but if you want to take a Seat on MASTER CASH TABLE 9 NOW, or, if it fills, get on the waiting list, then, with any luck, & fingers crossed (but NO guarantees, it's a trial) your play will be shown LIVE on Channel 865 from 1pm this afternoon for a few hours.
I'll sit in to help fill it until the other seats fill, then I'll vacate.
Enjoy!

4 seated already, though 2 of us - Sky Santa & myself - will vacate our seats if & when players arrive, & a Waiting List forms.
something new to watch during the day.
hope all goes well with the trial
It's a trial guys, there will be a few glitches, but the only way to trial it is to run it during the day when we know we can fill the Seats.
Just being honest.
There are loads of repeats of the live shows.
If you enjoy cash poker this will be worth watching.
Thanks for helping with today's trial, which, all things considered, went well. Bit of a shame that Mother, who's baby this is, is off sick, but them's the breaks.
As you can see from the thread, "each to their own", we cannot please everyone, but we'll at least try! Good to see all the views expressed with good grace, too.
Personally I don't play cash poker as I find it tedious. Tournaments are my game, tournaments are fun and I play poker for fun, not to make money. Cash games on a delay set to awful muzak will never appeal to people like me.
I'll try to remember to Sky+ all the live shows in future as they're on when I'm asleep, series link doesn't work for them, I usually rely on catching the replays that are shown during the day, hence my comment.
Imagine, for example, & hypothetically, saying "OK, Ch 865 will go live 24/7, but C4P will be scrapped". That'd be lose/lose, for both parties. But the spend cake is only so big, & can only be cut so many ways. More here means less there.
Onward & upward!
The idea of staging the Trial @ 1pm today was so that the Staff involved in setting it all up - quite a few, as it happens - did not have to come here in the middle of the night for a 1 hour run-through. There is a lot more mileage & development in the thing yet, so let's wait & see what tx times are eventually chosen. It kinda depends on a lot of things, including how well-received it is, & if it drives business. That's what 865 exists for - to promote, educate, entertain (except when Orford is on), & help promote the business & drive revenue. With the exception of the BBC & other PSB's, that's what all TV does, or tries to do - drive business.
I only watch 865 3 or 4 times per week at the moment mainly because when I switch it on i'm usually dissapointed to see yet another repeat of the primo etc.
Don't get me wrong though, there have been many times when i've missed the primo or a main event and had to watch the repeat so the repeats are still a useful tool.
At least the guys and gals at Sky Central are making possitive strides forward - so much applause for that.
