I really don't see what all the fuss is about, seeing 5 flops in 5 days sounds like a BARGAIN to me, also it's only the 8th dec. & i'm sure there will be more promotions that will suit everyone between now & xmas

+1 an easy task. Last year was more difficult, I won my seat last year playing 25/50 omaha!! which is never good for the bankroll.

I get a little tired of this cash v tournament debate.

And that is speaking as someone who does not enjoy playing cash, so I am rarely seen at the cash tables.

But as a tournament specialist, I am more focused on what Sky offers me than what it gives to cash players.

Its like constantly hearing the moan that there are too many bounty hunters. No there are not too many BHs, because they keep attracting big fields and making their guarantees.

But if someone says there are not enough deepstacks for £10/20 buyin with guaranteed prize pools, I have to agree.

But I also remember how much effort myself and other players have put in to supporting and promoting this type of tournament in the past, only for the numbers involved to dwindle away.

But looking from a serious tournament players point of view, we have to be positive. In the past year the Sky Rollers have become part of the regular schedule. And they have a great structure, but also allow more cost conscious players to satellite in.

And hopefully UKOPS will also become a permanent fixture too.

And one thing that has been clearly shown by these tournaments is that we dont have cash players and tournament players but we DO have a lot of very good poker players.

People who a year ago may have been regarded as cash specialists are regularly playing these tournaments (and often winning them !)

And they have the respect of the majority of us tournament players. Personally I love hearing of ANY regular on Sky going out and winning live tournaments etc.

Yes a while ago there were isolated incidents of a few cash players disrespecting us "donkament" players, but I hope that is in the past now.

So please, when Sky comes up with a new idea or promotion, why does anyone feel the need to be negative ?

Even if you feel a particular offer or  promotion is not for you, dont knock it, because it obviously will suit many other people.

This particular one is great fun, my foray into the world of cash poker today turned into a 40 minute session and even a small profit. And I will enjoy doing the same again on at least 4 days.

      hi

as a tourny player mainly i think this isa great promotion

for very little money and effort  you get into a tourny with knowing sky some fantastic prizes

other years have been hard to get into santas sack

i got mine by winning the bounty hunter on a thursday night

i didnt see pages of cash players whinging

they played the tournies and got there entries if they wanted them

tikay used to run last longers for seats in the sants tourny all mtt still no whinging from anyone

the cash players on this and most sites should be looked after as they generate the most money for the site

my rake a month wouldnt cover tikays wardrobe bills lol

      so i say thankyou sky

      great promotion

the way i see it is u see 1 flop a day 10p/20p leverl to play in a great tournement so basically play 1 orbit of cash a a day and see a flop in this process at max its going to cost u is £2 to play a great tourney gottta be done

Oh, I forgot to add. Look out for loads of surprise "freebie" giveaways to Santas Grotto, on the 865 Shows, the Community, on the Tables, & from Sky Santa, Sky Elf, & the PTP-ers. In fact - I will offer ONE FREE ENTRY to the Santa's Grotto seat for the best balanced Post on this Thread. Not sucky wucky, not necessarily "on message", just "well-balanced". Please try to remember the key - Sky Poker is trying to please, & be fair, to all it's Clients. Big & small, Cash, MTT, SNG, the lot.  Awkward shoes to wear, them.

And just how are you going to achieve that? I was led to believe that only santa himself could offer these places into his grotto, or have you finally got into the christmas spirit by being buddies with the great man himself?

Great post and I echo the sentiments entirely.

Sky Poker have really gone the extra mile in 2011 and I can't wait to see how things improve and evolve in 2012.

£22 + ,  can barely get a game.  Used to be able to get 1k c4p a day ,easy.  Now struggle to get 3 tables open at once !  lol n OK, We could play 5 hands for £1 n get in the freeroll, how about a freeroll where people have to play 5 sit n go's,  They could do that for £1 , plus it would be nice to promote STT's for a change.

so let me get this right...you are rolled for £22 dym yet fell excluded because you need to play 5 raked hands over 5 days at a cost of £1.

some people will moan about anything!

Not gonna quote the whole things, but these were 2 v good posts from 2 of skys high volume/successful MTT players.

    wp both.

As a low volume mtt player who isn't ever gonna set the heather on fire, I think this is a great opportunity to get into a highly publicised tourney for very little outlay.

Spend a £1 over 14 days at 20p a time...... doesn't seem that difficult and also helps SKY promote cash games to some that may not usually play that game, seems pretty fair to me.

And off course, if you don't want to play or don't like the format....... don't take part.

    That is all

I played my 1 raked hand, lost £1.20, then realised I'd forgotten to enter the code. Ooooops.

    Edit;

Entered the code and played another hand, lost £1.05 this time.

For me i would prefer if sky started to turn the focus on omaha as with most things the popular game turns in circles and omaha cash is coming again (if it isnt already here)

By putting some extra focus on omaha now they could get a head start or at least be in a position to compete with the "bigger" sites.

The traffic for omaha on here is still very poor (whenever i check) and as such i cant play my favoured game here as the game doesnt run.

I appreciate the fact you are unable to show omaha hands on television is a massive drawback and is probably the deciding factor, however im sure some kind of omaha cash promotion could be run.

    Does this count as balanced.

Does anyone know if this should show as a part qualified offer ? I entered the code and played for two days but nothing is showing

BTW, I think this is a great offer, much better than having to stand next to my snowman with a 'I love sky poker' sign like last year.  My neighbours still think i'm crazy !

Does HU count towards this, or do there have to be more than 2 players.

Well thats my 3rd raked hand, 2 to go. Day 1 made 93p, day 2 made £22, today lost 50p. I only played 1 circuit each day so ive been a bit of a hit and runner but these stakes are over my br to play over a period of time, is anyone else doing this.

Done this for the first 2 days, played 3 orbits for my raked hands and currently 70p down.

Having had a quick look I might just shortstack for a while on at least one of the remaining days and see how it goes.

Any cats in the area might be wise to keep away if I do play though. ;o)

Played nl20 with a full buy-in for over an hour last night and same again this morning.

Now have 4 raked hands towards the entry, just over £12 profit from doing this, and a real incentive to build a BR to play at this level again in the future because I've not felt out of my depth at nl20. If anything I've felt more comfortable than at nl4.

Also have an idea on maybe how to build that BR that I'll give a whirl to in the new year.

And all from trying to qualify for a freeroll. TY Sky.
