have you lost a tourny seat

edited December 2011 in Poker Chat
I play on other sites that do not allow deregistration if you win a seat espicaly were the seat or seats are guarenteed. I recently won a seat were there had to be sufficant funds for the winner to get the seat with lower places reciveng cash. As i could not play i deregistered and have now according to sky poker forited the seat and the monies, yet there system did not advise I could not derigister and did not give a ticket credit. Any one else had same problem

I have never thought that the sky policy on de-regin from sats qualification to events has ever been anything but TOTALLY unfair.

I cannot see any reason for not refunding the FULL amount as sky have already got the rake from the sats and the buy-in fee.

It simply put does NOT make any sense at all.

After all if say ya buy into a sat for £4.80 and 1in 5 qualify then sky have taken £2 in rake off of the 5 players in total , so if ya de-reg and get £4.80 refunded then where does the rest of the £22 go ?? thats £17.20 unaccounted for.

    Skys policy

"Please note that if you've won entry to a tournament via a satellite and then cancel the registration, you won't receive any money back for the cancellation as your entry was of no monetary value. If you are unable to make the tournament then please contact Customer Care and we may be able to make alternative arrangements"

My comment to them is that it must have a value as the players who have entered have to pay sufficiant in the kitty to buy the seat.

It may sound harsh but thems the rules, i believe its to prevent massive overlays in the finals, imagine if everyone de registered. I won a £22 main event sat about 6 months ago, i contacted customer care and they graciously put me in on another day. On another occassion i won a £33 thursday seat on the forum, again i couldnt make it and sky kindly gave me £33 of tourney buy ins, so i played the £22 main event and an £11 BH on another day. Lastly i won a £110 sky roller seat into the thursday night last month, i am working every thursday until christmas and sky have kindly put that on hold until i can play. I guess the moral of the story is, if you win a seat and then cant play, give customer care a call and they may well sort it for you to play on another day. My biggest tip though is to be polite with them, tell them why you cant make it, being nice truelly does tend to work wonders with these guys. lastly never de register yourself, always let sky do it, it makes it a whole lot easier.

I can see your point but the system does not prevent deregistration, secondly to state somthing that has been paid for by players has no monetry value I find wrong.

silly rule which means i now have a £220 tourney entry fee which is completley worthless to me

even though i think its a silly rule the customer service received whilst trying to rectify this was nothing short of absymal

    emails replies no

live support wouldnt no poker if it hit them in the face

dave bland at least replied but didnt seem to understand my situation

You got it on the nail

I have sent a complaint to The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) after hitting a brick wall with sky poker. I would suggest others do the same and maybe we will get this changed

    hi mr-pd

i dont in essence have a problem with sky implementing there own rules (even though every other site i have played on dont do it this way)

what i have a major problem with is the complete lack of interest sky have shown with this.

Let me no how you get on as no doubt this thread will disappear overnight
