Changes - ACTION Tables

edited December 2011 in Poker Chat

If you go to the Cash Table Lobby, you will now see "Action Tables" at most levels from 10p up.

On an "Action Table", the "Small Blind" and Big Blind are the same. So, what WAS a 5p-10p Table would, IF an Action Table, now be a 10p-10p Table.

The MINIMUM sit down at all "Action Tables" is 20xBB, the MAXIMUM is 100xBB.

There are also some additional Points awarded when playing Action Tables.

Points awarded for every 20 raked hands (pro-rata), are.....

5p-10p Normal Tables, 2 points, 10p-10p Action Tables 3 points.

10p-20p Normal Tables, 5 points, 20p-20p Action Tables 6 points.

15p-30p Normal Tables, 5 points, 30p-30p Action Tables 6 points.

25p-50p Normal Tables, 9 points, 50p-50p Action Tables 10 points.

50p-£1 Normal Tables, 18 points, £1 £1Action Tables 20 points.

£1-£2 Normal Tables, 24 points, £2 £2 Action Tables 25 points.

Please note - these "Action Tables" do NOT replace ANY other Tables, they are an addition.

So players have the choice - play as before, on "normal" Tables, OR choose the Action Tables.

    Nothing removed, something added.

    that is all

ps.  the anticipation of more good things is fun.

Thanks Rob, cold down here, too.

Anticipating the changes is fun? Good, I've not begun yet, there are LOADS more, affecting Cash, SNG's, Tourneys, all sorts of stuff. Not everyone will like everything, c'est la vie, but I'm pretty sure that, overall, everyone will agree that it will mean more choice, & a more user-friendly software interface.

yey !  I'll look forward to this, lets hope theres still some SNG players around.  Also think the primo 3k starting stack is a brilliant change.

On a different note, since the maintenance this morning, when i change the chat to 'summary and chat' it still stays as full detail. Obviously i can live with this  lol, was just wondering if any1 else is affected by this ?

Yes, apologies, aware of that - it's a sort of side-issue of something else planned for implementation, it won't be like that very long, and it will be sorted properly soonest.

Did not know what  to expect before I opened this thread.

Any chance of including obligatory straddles?! Now THAT is action...

Having £2 - £2 for HU is really odd. Could be a hinderance in getting the games started and there is potential for these being a real rake machine for Sky.

    Hmm...

Would be well sexy. Like I said, HU is going to be so weird in this format.
  • edited December 2011
indeed antes on the mastercash tables would be great, these "action" tables will never get started because you can't play HU
with the same big and small blinds it's ridiculous, also you give 200nl players +1 point when the rake it's going to create for you will be huge and is nowhere near the incentive to start up these tables over regulars
  • edited December 2011
they could introduce some other concept tables like straddling, run it twice, win a hand with 2-7 game, whoever wins the hand has the button next hand....etc...

Where would we be without a moan lol. Well this aint a moan its just an observation, the lower level action hands have a decent percentage poker point upgrade, whereas the high level action hand is rubbish. I wont affect me as i dont play ''nose bleed'' tables lol, but the 1 extra point for the £2/£2 seems a bit miserly!!!

Rather than getting fancy with all sorts of different tables can we please get the minimum buy in raised from 10bb to 25bb or so on all tables. We need short stacks in the game, these players fund the poker economy but 10 bb is too low.

i think with these action tables 50p/50p or 1 /1 u see alot of people trying to blind steal now and widen there range a lot more i think
  • edited December 2011
personally i dont like the action tables there should always be a small blind and a big blind myself just an opinion

Naw... It just means that when 2 fish or 2 regs with bad hands are bvb that sky gets to take a rake 100% of the time.

This happens alot more than you would think too and I'm not completely sure that the new points boost will completely make up for the amount of money taken off of these tables in that way

I agree with this though.. IMO for 50nl £0.25/£0.5/£0.05-£0.1 so regular 50nl with a 5-10p ante would encourage more "action" rather than just becoming a rake machine.

    I vote 50nl antes and 25-50bb minimum
  • edited December 2011
    antes would be amazing

just destroy certain players who couldn't adapt
  • edited December 2011
    This is dumb.

Action tables is the wrong name, 'an attempt to scre w more rake out of players' is a better way to name it.

[ ] well thought out as usual....

why is scr ew against the rules with regards to banned words

how dumb can this be, I scre w nails in or I screwed up a piece of paper are rude? really?

The rake at higher levels would be almost identical as Sky only takes 5% upto a maximum £1.80, and no rake if there's no flop - If there's a flop, the pot at £2/£2 would probably be more than £36 most of the time anyway, so it doesn't actually make any difference. The few times that the pot is under £36 and there's a flop, the extra 5p rake (i.e. 5% of the extra £1 for the small blind) is probably nothing to someone who has £200 at a table and a couple of hundred lots of that in their bankroll, too.

Only time I can see it making any difference is when the big blind would usually get a walk, and instead the sb and bb both check, in which case, Sky takes rake from them players as there is a flop.

The points boosts aren't that big percentage wise at higher levels, however, as you only get points for raked hands anyway, it just means you play more raked hands and get the points faster that way, instead. I do think only 1 point increase at the £2/£2 tables is still a bit miserly, but it's not as bad as it looks either when you think about it.

Some of the regs might actually have to start playing KK!
