Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
Thursday night live with Sarah, tikay and special guest Scotty77 *****official show thread*****
Evenin' all!
How's your week been? Spent most of mine recovering from the SPT in Newcastle, WHAT A WEEKEND!!! Was great to meet so many of you in person, special mentions to the members of the Sky Poker Teams: TKP, Hitsquad, 51... who cemented what I've always sensed and that's what a GREAT community we have here on Sky Poker. Was a real pleasure to be part of...
SO! On to the show! And we're talking Xmas UKOPS! 4 days 4 events and £100,000 in guarantees! Lovely jubbly. Assuming you're getting in on the action, how will you be approaching it? Any hints/tips on how to adapt to the different events? Playing satellites? Multi tabling? Our guest is Team Sky Poker member Ryan Spittles AKA Scotty77 any questions or advice you'd like from Ryan and/or tikay on UKOPS or otherwise post away...
We're live on 865 from 8 and on Sky Sports from 10 covering the 15K sky sports bounty hunter and 5K Sky Roller with some cash action thrown in as well.
One of us will be wincing at the 9 letter C word. One of us will be wearing sequins.
See you then!

Any tips for multi tabling? It's definitely the way forward as I agree just the one makes it easy to get bored and doesn't help with variance. When doing this is it more of a case of ABC poker and not worrying too much about player reads or is that a clear sign I'm playing too many at once if I can't do both?
Nice to see Scotty back on the show. My question is...do you ALWAYS play for the win in an MTT or are there certain cirumstances, for instance, you've satellited into a big buy-in tourney and you're a few places away from a min-cash of £2,500, do you tighten up at all (I'm not talking about folding JJ pre lol) or still keep your foot to the floor and go for the win regardless?
Can I just say congratulations to Salad24 for being the first guy to take down the Forum Heads Up Championship!!
(Ya don't need to read this out Sarah but it's for Tikay.... I don't suppose there's any word on a prize for Salad24 and possibly the runner up, Splashies)

Question for Scotty: Ive watched you playing quite alot on the site in mtts and cash and you are clearly a very good player and a big winner on sky ( and may i add in all the time ive watched you ive NEVER seen you being rude or anything to anyone in the chat after badbeats etc which is a thing i would say 99% of winning players have in their game that most of the none winning players dont ) but i was wondering :
1 = How long did it take you before you became a winning player ?
2 = At which format did you first notice the change in your game from a losing or break even player to consistent winner ?
3 = What 1 main thing would you say turned your game around most ?
4 = With the news that Richard Orford is starting to play alot of cash tables on sky does this make you a) Want to change site ? b) Structure the times you play on the site so they dont clash with the times Rich is on ? or c) Stop playing all MTTs and STTs and focus totally on the cash tables 24/7 until he drops to 2p/4p ?
Sorry for being greedy and asking too many questions guys but just wanted to take this chance while Scotty was on the show
BTW the question about Rich is obvi a joke because anyone who watches the show will know that Rich is a great guy and up for a laugh and the answer is obviously C lol
Have a good show.
hi srarah, tikay and ryan..
my question to ryan... i think i have nearly worked out your live tells. we all know that when you put your tsp hoodie up over your head and you hold it there with your left hand you are bluffing, we know that when using your right hand to hold your hood you have the nuts, but when you have both hands on your head does that mean you are asleep or in tears?
thanks
ps have a good show tonight
Only Orford's missing from the perfect Team!
I'd like to ask Ryan:
Does he set himself targets?
What his plans are for 2012?
what % of time does he allocate between live/internet play?
What does he do to unwind outside of poker?
Do professionals have to pay taxes on their winnings?
Have a great show!
Question for Ryan -
I've read many posts on here from players saying they lose because they're playing "bad players". Based on that logic, and as you're a 'winning player', does that mean you only play against great players? ;-)
PS - Tikay, just seen some Eiders on BBC's 'Frozen Planet'
I will be on a half hour delay though, as I will be watch Emmerdale first, but I will soon catch up when I fast forward through TKs anicdotes about ducks, bridges, service stations or concrete!
What percentage of your three bets should be bluffs or semi-bluffs to maximise your profits?
My question for Ryan is how does he think talking at the tables affects your game? I, for 1 find it very hard to remain quiet or turn the chat off, even in later stages of a tourny.
Does a rail, put you off or spur you on?
Oh, and last but not least... How does it feel being the "best looking" guy in team awesome?! Does it faze you/are the other guys jealous?
lol.
*and I hope your answer to fav team was TKP
TWO QUESTIONS FOR RYAN
WHO IS YOUR TOUGHEST ON-LINE PLAYER TO GO AGAINST AND WHO IS YOUR TOUGHEST LIVE PLAYER TO GO AGAINST.
