HEART FELT LOST THREAD

As anyone who has been an active on this forum will know I rarely make any requests from the Mods on this forum.  I would however consider it a personal favour if a Mod or Admin could please look into the disappearance of this thread.  I forget the exact title but I posted on it so if you can somehow look into my recent post history that might help (if it lists all posts made including deleted threads obviously, since the thread's deletion the post no longer appears in the list I see).  This is probably a technical error but due to the extremely sensitive nature of the subject and the heartfelt messages within I do feel a need for an explanation on this matter.

Sporny - Please could you consider changing the title of this thread to something a little less combative.  'Lost thread request' or the like would suffice.  I know you have strong feelings on the matter, but a better tone might attract someone to it faster.

    AS ABOVE, AS SOME KNOW I STARTED A CONDOLENCE THREAD IN THE TEAM FORUM FOR JIMCHREE24 (JIM ) WHO TRAGICALLY LOST HIS WIFE LAST FRIDAY, WHICH HAS NOW VANISHED AND I`V NOT HAD A PM TO SAY WHY, TO BE HONEST UNLESS JIM HIMSELF HAS ASKED FOR IT TO BE DELETED, I THINK IT`S A DISGRACE.
    I HOPE SOMEONE CAN SHED A LIGHT AS TO WHAT HAPPENED

    As a former mod I know there is absolutely no way any of the folks would intentionally remove that thread and it's also probable that it wasn't accidentally removed, as there are confirmations required before removal. However a few threads have disappeared through a software technical glitch (eg, Del's Bar, Ask Tikay (although restored) and others). It's just a shame it seems to happen on 'popular' threads. This forum software is .. not the best .. clearly has some bugs which need sorting.

    Hi sporny

    Just to let you know that an email has been sent onto the Sky team, I was CC's in as one of the Forum Mods,  asking them to look into the missing thread.  As Elliott, Nosybonk, has said I doubt that anyone has intentionally deleted the thread and there have been instances where threads have disappeared for no apparent reason.  

    If I remember correctly Claire was going to print off the messages to be forwarded to Jim and hopefully this happened before the thread disappeared.

    sporny as said above m8, threads do from time to time disappear, and also as Steve and Elliot have said none of the mods would have deleted it either knowingly or accidently, in fact I think most of the mods and a few at Sky Poker commented on the thread too. I was going to send an email for it to be looked into, but i see it has already been done.
    hopefully it will be sorted out,

    As a few have pointed out on here, we have had problems with the software somehow removing whole threads from the forum, such as 'SPT live update' threads and the 'ask Tikay' to mention a few.

    Unfortunately it would appear that this is the case again here.

    I can only apologise for this, and we will get this looked into asap. I can't really confirm that this can be fixed or give any timescales, as the recent issue with the 'ask Tikay' thread took quite a lot of time to fix, and other threads have just been irretrievable.

    Again, apologies for this.

    thanks lee, i do hope it`s not irretrievable as it won`t feel right starting another up, could you please also confirm if sky_clair managed to to copy the thread to email jim, if not then i`m sure forum freinds won`t mind re-posting if i do need to put another thread up.

    Hi Lee, would it not be advisable to take a regular snapshot of the forum? If Tikay's thread was lost, it would be a disaster innit? Or one of mine, or one of spornybols area 51 threads!

     My computer has "restore points", maybe Sky should have them, wactcha reckon?

    Hi,

    Claire isn't actually in until next week now but i will speak to her then.
    Hopefully we'll be able to restore the discussion. The forum software is provided by a third party and we're unable to take a snapshot as oynutter suggests.
