Bankroll Management Help Needed

edited December 2011 in Poker Chat

Hi guys,
Need your help of what % i should play with, at a starting roll of £100

I would be multi-tabling on a mixture of MTT's, Dym's and Cash

MTT's - 2 Tabling
Dym - 2 to 3 Tabling
Cash - 2 Tabling

Would just like your advice on what levels to play and when to take a shot at moving up one level if everything is going well?

Thank-You

MTT's - Stick to £1.10s and £2.20s (the monday Forum DTD is great fun). You can get alot of value for money by playing cheap deepstack MTTs.

DYM's - If you know what you're doing then you have enough to play £3.30s I'd say. Get the hang of them before you play too high a stakes because they can be very swingy.

Cash - This is the perfect amount for 4NL (2p/4p), I don't think £100 is enough to play any of the higher levels yet.

Stick to them rules above and you won't go broke any time soon...unless you're just terrible at the game lol.

    Good Luck

That all depends on no1, Are you a winner? If you are, How consistant are you?, If you have a very good game your % doesnt need to be too small maybe 3% would be ok,  You also have to take into consideration how comfortable you are at losing a buy in, If it hurts you are playing a level too high.

You might reach a level where anything higher no matter what your bankroll is will be too painfull to lose a buy in, soo always play comfortable, Scared money is losing money.

I used to play 1% but now I play less than 1%.

    Yeah this is about right,
Id like to add though, if your multitabling cash games then you want to divide the 4% roll as stated by lambert by however many tables you wish to play.
Playing NL4 on a £100 bankroll (£4 buy-in/4%) is a good starting point but i wouldnt advise multitabling as of yet untill you have at least £200 or more as you are risking a bigger percentage of your roll.

MTT's you need bettween 50-100 buy-ins as the variance is alot higher so around £1-£2ish is fine.

Hope it goes well, good luck.

With £100 defo be careful with the MTT's at the start see them as a treat so each Monday DTD is fine, consistent playing I wouldn't advise just yet.

DYM's £3.30 level would be ideal, it's basically what BR I have near enough to play them, I might say try a few £2.25's first but the standard is pretty much identical in both an less rake in £3.30 so just play them but obviously move down if you lose a lot early.

Cash - You have plenty for NL4 and should be able to stay alive 2/3-tabling easy, sonnyjimmy mentions not multitabling till you have £200, this is FAR too conservative imo plus single tabling NL4 would probably send you over the edge.

Good luck anyway, well unless you're on my DYM table then I hope you bubble lol

if starting with £100 i'd multitable nl4 over mtt n dym (personal opinion)

i'd be happy playing 4 tables with that starting bankroll but how many you play is down to you. i find the more tables you can multi the less chance you have of getting involved in silly pots thru boredom at that level.

a good day playing cash at that level can return the same as a small mtt bink

    £2.20 DYM

    4NL

don't bother with MTT until you reach £120, then play £1-£3 MTT
