My Tourny/SNG Challenge

Okay my bankroll management is usually very poor but im hoping to change this from now on.

Ive decided to deposit £100 and build from there

im going to play MTT's at most £5ish buy-in and see how i get on (i will also try and satellite into the main events)

previously i'll have just bought into the main events at 8pm which i have realised isnt really a good idea even though i have had a few big wins

i am terrible at cash so im goin to use all my willpower to stay away from the cash tables and focus on playing solely MTT's and maybe a few 3.30/ 5.50 Scary sngs as they seem to be my best games.
 
i will update this thread daily to show u how im doing, and i will post any tricky hands i may come across

i only managed to play one game today and that was the 5.50 £150gtd, which i managed to win :) for £75 therefore my BR is at £169.50 as it stands

    i came across the exact same position in the main event the day before and i decided to call and a low flop and turn made me shove and he showed aces so i lost and went out on the bubble AGAIN lol, so what do u do here? i had a bad feeling too so i was really stuck, any thoughts?

    i made the same mistake earlier by making a min 3-bet, if you make a 3-bet to narrow down the limpers then make it at least 3x or 4x, the fact he limped and then 4-bet 4x then you can safely say he has you beat, so in this case id of folded.
    9/9 out of position in this example isnt favourable.

    as for the hand i probably open a bit more 450-500 i know blinds are creeping up but with all the stacks on the table dont think a min raise is doing enough. As played really depends on any history with the villain? had they been tight? if no reads at all ill prob sigh fold as hes re-raising half his stack so obviously he is gettin it in. he could have you crushed by 10/10+ or flippinnA/K A/Q

    I know it doesn't look clear but i actually made it 400 more from the blinds so 600 from 200, and it was fairly standard stuff on the table an hadn't been there long so yeh it just seemed out of the ordinary and i fellt i could find a better spot in later on so yeh i sigh folded this, just wished i had in the main the other day!

    Oh i c now cheers HH is not great on sky :)

    Played it fine then imo, dont really need to be flipping here(at best) you have enough of a stack to sigh fold wp

    Agree with YG

    It stinks of trappy play AA, like YG says he is committing so much of his stack you cant shove him off it so with 99 you are in bad shape, flip at best - sigh fold!

    so i've managed to play 9 scary's today: won 4, second in 1 and failed to cash in 4.

    I played a bounty hunter but i lost with tens vs J9suited aipf so made a loss on that :(

    Luckily i just satted into the main event tonight thorugh the semi so im updating before that starts to wish myself and all other's luck!!

    I haven't had too many tricky hands today although there was one again with 99 which i folded and he had kings so that was ok :)

    Shove looks fine to me, hard to put cookie on a hand just flat-calling 4x raise from shortstack and most times I think he folds to reshove and you take on shorty.

    Only managed to play 2 games today this morning as have been christmas shopping all day! - missed the santa's grotto freeroll which is a shame!!

    Can't play tonight either.

    2 Scary sngs 5.50, won both for 22.50 :)

    Had a fairly rough patch today but managed to get back to winning ways. Disappointed with the result innthe 200gtd as was 3rd with 8 left and messed up when i was confident of getting heads up tbh but ahh well. Moved upto play a couple of 11pound sary's (2nd in one, 1st in the other) so may play some more in my next session. Overall a good profitable day again.
