FINDING A POKER BOOK

Now i know there are many many books out there that will teach you. but what i want to know is as a reactrional player i now want to start to take poker a little more serious and make some money what book do i buy... bearing in mind i have not baught a book  before and my play has been somewhat not clever but like i say its always been fun for me and now i want to start taking the game a lot more serious and earning some money and improving my game.... any help or advice would be greatly appreciated....

Harington on Holdem Volume 1 is good basic guide imo. Its based on early stages of mtts but lots of the concepts apply in general. Most importantly it teaches how to think about the game

thank you both for the replys i am definately going to purchase a book as for my poker i know the basics and just have to take it more seriously and actually play correctly hopfully i can make 2012 a profitable year. hoping to make all the spts after newcastle just gone and hopefully run deeper than half way lol ps jockbmw ive got a zx6r kawasaki at the mo but beacuse im in the army and travel a long way what bike do u suggest i purchase for comfort and long distance i have had a bandit and it was naked not to great long distance lol i was thinking maybe sv 650 what u think

I blew my knee playing rugby when I was young so any form of sports bike Kills it.  

My frst bike was a Honda VFR 800, Great bike, which everyone in the world says is a really comfy bike.  It killed my knee. 

 I ride a BMW 1200GS now,  I have done 500 miles a day on this thing with no probs at all. The SV650 is a great bike by all accounts, but it is very low, you seea lot of female riders on them because they can get their feet down.  If you have any height at all it may be too low for you.  

I'd check out a VFR800 or VFR750, you can get them pretty cheap and they are awesome machines

As above - Harrington on Holdem Volume 1 and 2 are excellent books.

I've just got Elements of Poker by Tommy Angelo which had been recommended to me too but can't comment on that as I haven't started reading it yet.

I'd also comment that Killer Poker by Jonathan Vorhaus (sp) that JockBMW reviewed is an interested read from the point of view of the mindset behind playing winning poker but from the point of view of learning technique etc. is not going to give you much.
