THIS IS LOAD OF RUBBISH IFI HAD KNOWN THAT I WOULD OF SAT STILL ON MY 10K CHIPS IN STEAD OF PLAYING AND SOMEONE JAMMING WITH 6 HIGH AND HITTING EVERYTHING

AGREE ROSJIM - if we knew this was going to be the outcome, I would of sat still on 10k ish instead of pushing due to the ever increasing blinds.  Has cost me around 80-100 quid as would of finished higher at the point when the Tournament was cancelled.  Not happy.

As previously stated, Tournament should of been paused when the problems started. No excuse Sky.  Has happened before, and will probably happen again.  Seems like software is unable to cope when there is a lot of traffic!

what a pile of tut tut i satellited in for 1.60 into the semi then got through that. I got a head so in theory i made a tenner but for the hard slog i had to do to get there and in theory i still took 33 quid to the table they should refund me this

they say that all entry fee's will be repaid for remaining players. is this for £33 or what you actually paid, i.e sat for £7.20?

In Response to Re: £20000 BH running so slow : see im confused here why did you get a refund of £136 i think to be fair all players that were affected by this was alot more than 141 players should have been a refund of £33 plus what ever bounties that player has collected some strange numbers here... Posted by neil1970[/QUOTsky have put a post at the top of general poker chat. read that it explains more than i can

I was 27th out of the 800+ that entered and I paid the full £33 to enter. Unfortunately as the blinds increased further and further, I only got about 5 hands and they were all unplayable so the blinds wiped me out.  I went out about 15 minutes before they canned the tournament yet I am not getting a refund? Absolutely disgusting, horrendous service.  It's bad enough that I was well situated to go on to win some prize money, but a refund will suffice so I can enter a similar tournament tomorrow. If I don't get a refund I will not play with Sky Poker again.

    My sentiments exactly!

There were so many people affected by tonights problems that the tourney was in no way run fairly. How can Sky justify paying out all that were left and not reimburse the many affected players who were disabled by the long delays.

Surely, everyone who entered bought into a tournament for £33 and expected it to be run fairly? It was far from fair yet some people will share the prizefund and some wont, it appears. Hundreds of players simply had no chance to participate fairly in this shambles of a competition and therfore should be reimbursed accordingly. There can be no other satisfactory outcome.

    Hi everyone

Please again accept our apologies for this.

Just to reiterate, we have settled and paid out fully the tournament in as fair a way as we can asap. This does not mean it is the end of it, we will be doing further things to resolve this as best we can. Naturally we will be investigating this fully overnight and in the morning and will provide a further update then.

Do please bear with us whilst we look into the detail on what happened, how people were affected and next steps. As you might imagine, each case is unique and we need time to look into them.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide responses to individual cases on the forum.

Finally, please remember we do want to deal with this as fairly as we can.

Again, we will follow up in the morning.

    Thanks
    Sky Poker

i think sky should refund all entry fees........

Utterly discusting if they have chosen to not refund. I now think sky shoule beput in the same category as Full Tilt for customer care.

I too paid the £33 hoping to have a nice post Xmas game, dont normally play this level and as above I will be very reluctant to stake such sums on Sky again.

Needs to be renamed SCROOGE POKER.

Be interesting to see the names of those that did cash, bet the usual suspects are there. Sky looking after their big players and ignoring the rest

    WELLDONE AT LAST,

REFUNDS HAVE BEEN GIVEN OF £33 LESS ANY BOUNTY ALREADY PAID OUT.

LET US HOPE THIS DOES NOT RE-OCCUR
  • edited December 2011
I don't know why Sky just didn't cancel the tournament and give everyone the refund for the entry fee as if it never occured then offer some kind of freeroll event. Not sure why anyone got any head prizes as they may not have even got them if everyone could have played their normal poker game.

Might be worth investing in the software to get some kind of pause button internally for tournaments in the future.

If they give everyone the entry fee back I can't see how anyone could complain. Some people are going a bit overboard with their reactions unfortunately.

Just to update you - this is still being investigated.

We will be in touch asap and will provide a further update on how we are resolving this.

This is a complex problem and we want to deal with it thoroughly and fairly to all players affected. Please bear with us whilst we complete this.
