is this cheating?

If he typed it in the chat-box then yes, this is open collusion which is definitely not allowed.

    ok so im playing a DYM and as usual we get to the final four and then it becomes a shoot out.  im sat under the gun with 870 and the blinds are 400 800,  i know its bad times but like i said they become abit of a shoot out anyway.

    i pick up A J off and push as you would dealer folds and it gets to the small blind whos thinking about what to do when the big blind xxxx says in the chat box call and we can just check it down.  I know this is standard play and i would of just called to check down but is it cheating to influence another players decision and possibly change the outcome of the game, as one double up would of got me round at least 2 more orbits and the sb only had the 2 bb left.

    What you guys think cos im pretty miffed

    Get the time of the game, the game id, n get in touch with CC demanding the guy is chat banned at least temporarily, and warned that any offence like this in the future will lead to a permanent chat ban.

    In all honesty any decent player would know to call and check it down anyway.

    It's not ideal but personally I don't think this is cheating, I wouldn't do it personally and it would probably annoy me if it was against me.  But in your spot, I would be expecting a call from both blinds and a collaborative play

    Quite possibly collusion/prompted cheating...

    No guarantee that the other fella was in chat box though? (unless you'd seen them chat already?)

    I know I sometimes make comments like 'away blind steals?' 'are we blinding it out?'
    but if they are away, it's common practice to 'steal the candy from the baby!' lol...
    everyone knows that...

    but I would never suggest directly what to bet/when to bet/or directly state them to bet and check down!!

    Do Sky hold a record of the chat boxes? Maybe ask them to investigate the game?

    Openly advising another player on how to act is collusion and 100% cheating.

    It wouldn't be accepted in a live game and shouldn't be online either.

    Quite possibly collusion/prompted cheating... No guarantee that the other fella was in chat box though? (unless you'd seen them chat already?)     Prob is if u don't report it, he will continue to do it & other players will suffer in 'less obvious' spots in the future until someone finally does something about it.

    He might not even know he's cheating!

    Greg i think we have ALL said things in chatbox over our poker career , we just dont all get reported and banned , will be great when ya get ure chat back as ive shared plenty of tables with ya in the past and ive always win/lose enjoyed ure banter but CHEATIN inthe chatbox is defo a no no and i think you 100% agree with this.

    They try to educate you how to play good poker fairly, without seeing your opponents cards & without them having ur opponents openly tell you what they're gonna do.

    How do you know he would have called anyway? you've played enough hands on here to know people do alot of silly things. 

    Its the principal, nxt time the guy wants to cheat the situation might not be as straight forward.
