Players can still see 'mucked' hands!

edited January 2012 in Poker Chat
Exposing a losing hand gives information to an opponent. Accurate information or note taking of an opponent can determine how we play against a certain opponent and therefore gives us a winning advantage.

On Sky Poker if two or more players remain after the last betting round the first person to the left of the dealer displays their hand followed by the person to their left until the winning hand is found. All those players to the left of the winning hand still involved in play 'muck' their hands.

Despite players choosing to 'muck' their hands if a player involved in the showdown selects 'view hand history' during the game they can still see their opponents hands despite them being mucked. Players who folded before the showdown cannnot see the hands of the opponents that were 'mucked'.

Therefore it appears players that can view the 'mucked' hands gain an advantage when compared with those who cannot see the mucked hands of their opponents.

My question is can I still see my opponents mucked hands after a showdown if I was not involved in the play? If I can't then why can the players involved in the hand still see them?
