Profitability, keeping track?

edited January 2012 in Poker Chat
after reading through the forum for this past while, i have realised that how i am going about playing my poker is totally wrong. i was just playing for fun and topping up when needed. i havent a very big BR at the min as im out of work, i have £20 and im going to try and start making some profit grinding at the DYM tables, im going to start at  £1+£0.15, and move up when im at £42. As i will play the odd MTT here and there i'd like to know how people keep track of they're winnings in certain game types?

have a look at sharkscope mate, keeps track of everyones tourney and sng profit/losses in graph form. you get 5 free name searches per day but you can get the option to buy more if you want.

I disagree that you should rely on a third party to keep track of your results. Sharkscope is Ok for having a quick look at your opponents' overall win/loss rates - but that's about it (for free anyway).

The answer is pretty simple - PC, spreadsheets, Create your own spreadsheet to keep track of your buy-ins, cash outs and convert the totals to date to percentages. If you're not too handy with spreadsheets you could bribe one of the local sixth form students to build one for you. Alternatively, as you seem to have time on your hands at the moment. learn how to do it yourself.

    Good luck.
