Hi all, Hope you are well and a happy new year to you all! I have spent the last week trying to avoid doing my tax return, and have therefore cleaned every closet (not many to be fair in my 1 bed flat!), put my books into categories, my dvds into genres, my socks into pairs and found places to dust that i never knew existed... and still a box of receipts lies staring at me as i typeHi Anna,Tonight tune in to Sky Channel 865 , or follow the link on SkyPoker's home page to catch us live tonight at 9pm. Ryan is back tonight to give you more brilliant analysis, and I am looking forward to working with him for the first time

I've been to Vegas once and although not for the WSOP, it was great to play in some of the iconic card rooms.

Nice one, Col!
Have a great show Anna & Ryan. Awesome job last night, Ryan. Another natural like Reds.
Well how do you get Tells from online Poker sitting behind a Computer.? Please tell Ryan.! Can only be from betting patterns, as no one can see me biting my nails.
No aspiration to play live Poker would be in the loo the hole game. Really fancy the Primo but to nervous to enter. One day may-be. ? Have a great Show. I enjoyed last nights and looking forward to Tonight. Hugs Annie x
Here's one for Ryan.
When betting is it better to keep your bet sizing the same regardless of your cards to hide the strength/bluff or mess about with the bet size, and how does doing either influence your thoughts on the opponent.
Also does this apply to online or live or both.
Regards
Col
In response to your question my Tournament ambitions should be very achievable.
When I joined Sky Poker last year, my dream was to have just one week where I had hands analysed from the £12k BH, Primo and Sunday Roller.
Sadly it hasn't happened partly due to the fact I seem to come across HappyNige4 in every satellite qualifier! lol
At the minute my playing ability is overshadowed by my ability to talk a graet game of Poker
I used to think the Main Event in Vegas would be the one tournament to beat all but as Ukops was such a great success last year
I think the Ukops Bounty Hunter would be my dream tournament Action guaranteed from the get go and no time for second chances. massive cash incentives encouraging risk for reward i'd love it!
Well I would love to be in the WSOP ME despite the large field so I could very easily not cash even if I was an amazing player (which I am far from lol). Either that or I'd settle for a seat in the Sunday Roller on a night where some freak internet problem has resulted in everyone else being sat out
One tell I always heard to look out for was if the flop comes with 2 or 3 of the same suit and someone re-checks their cards, it generally means they have 1 of that suit, because people don't forget when they have suited cards but apparently it's a natural human reaction to look back at your cards hoping you got 2 of them, even when you know you haven't. Dunno how true this is for every player though.
Regarding live tells, this is something I've been trying to pay more attention to recenlty and it's really difficult as it's a two part story, firstly you near to spot the tell be it physical, verbal or habitual etc... then you need to decifer what it means.
I did howover pick up a very helpful one at the last SPT, last hand before the dinner break and I'd 3bet an early position raise with A9 in the cut-off, the flop came A high and the initial raiser led out about 2/3 pot. I tanked for a long time trying to make a decision and had almost talked myself into laying it down when I looked across the table and my opponent had lifted his cards about 2-3mm off of the table (as you would just before you fold) I shoved (about 4.5x his lead) and he snap folded.
A question or Ryan who I know is looking to play alot of live poker this year is once you've spotted a tell, for example hands shaking as chips are moved in or fumbling over chips. How do you assess what this tell means, ie. weakness or strenght? Or do you have to observe it in a few hands before you can decide and exploit it?
there are 2 if i could
1 - luton end off the month, i was going to try and qualify but i don`t think wife would like it as it`s our wedding anniversary ( also anna am still available for baby, lol)
2 - newcastle as i can visit relatives that i have not seen for a few years, as well i hear newcastle is a great place to go in a pair of shorts and t-shirt that time of year, lol
BTW I think we are gonna be looking at the Roller and the TSP Playoff tonight, probably with Primo updates.
If I could be brought into one event this year it would be the SPT bounty hunter in Blackpool. Taking the kids and the ex up for a weekend by the sea so they can enjoy themselves while I lose someone elses money
They few tells I have on some players online are mainly to do with bet sizing and fast checking when they have totally missed the flop. Not loads but enough to give me a small edge over a few people who I try to play as often as possible
Give Primo a go
I am proof that anyone can win it !
PUCPOUND
Hi and happy new year!!!
and got put straight on a table with LOL RAISE and OFFSHOOT great and then first change along comes the pro Mr Thew
I would love to play in a high roller event in vegas if bought the seat!!! Any one will do.
Top 3 tells (Only really play online) : 1) Betting patterns e.g when a player opens standard with 3x BB and c -bets all flops , but then one hand will pop up when its a 4-5x bb raise then a check to the flop. Or a pre limp then a raise.
2) announcing all in in the chat box prior to being dealt there hand.
3) (live) One thing i found helpful is watching others look at there cards and see where there hands go when they put them down, alot of players i have played with will reach and count chips out of turn if wanting to get involved in the hand.
I am playing the roller tonight and sat in for just a FIVER

looking forward to seeing you in a mo

1. if you can see your opponents eyes dilated pupils = good hand - deflated pupils = dodgy hand
2. Veins on forehead clearly visible enlarge with stress which could indicate time to shove.
3. Speed pushing chips then looking up can indicate strength - Speed pushing chips looking down can indicate weakness. It's a shame smoking isn't allowed any more! You could tell a lot by the way they exhaled their smoke!
Have a great show!
thanx rob
