Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
The luck vs skill debate...
has been settled decisively tonight by me winning a spot on Team Sky Poker.
I qualified by playing a lot of low stakes Omaha MTTs. I haven't played any hold'em except freerolls in months as I consider myself to be really bad at it. Despite all that I finished in the top 6 against 86 of the best players on Sky Poker, many of whom make a living playing hold'em.
Poker is all luck.

The skill is getting yourself in a position to get lucky
wonder who the winner is
well done anyway, what do you get for being on TSP
Congrats on that spin up though.
P.S, the skill in poker is consistently making the right plays EV wise, i.e getting all in as favourite, bluffing at the right time, making enough chips early on in a tourney to go deep ect.
The luck part is holding when your ahead/winning when your behind.
Congrats for making the team .
Very unlucky Ludovician, hope you get it next time.
I still can't believe it, but it looks like the first time I will ever play live will be a £1k buy-in tournament. Unreal.
