Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
Hi, i am a low stakes player simply because i cant afford much more, i play everything from cash to MTT to DYM etc i consider myself a 'decent' player and try to do things properly but can very rarely generate any profit, and when i do make a profit its never enough to go 'wow'. I genrally play 5p/10p cash tables and MTT tourneys that cost no more than £5.75 (bounty hunter) has anyone any ideas on how i could be more efficent/profitable? thanks

But you should after playing post a few hands on the forum hands you think you could have done a little better or even hands you feel you played well and people on the forum will give you their opinions which may help gl at the tables
Try and work out which format you are most successful with, and stick to it for a bit.
If its cash, start at the bottom. Multitable at 4nl rather than playing 10nl.
In MTTs, BHs may be attractive because there is more chance of getting something back, but the deepstacks reward good play more.
STTs are difficult when trying to build BR from the start because of the rake on the low levels. You need to be confident of winning 7/10 and rolled to play at £3.30.
22 wins @ £6 = £132
win 22 of 40 and youve taken all day break even but youve probably learned something. Like you have eye strain from all those hours, your wife has packed her bags and left and the kids have destroyed their rooms.
So improve your strike rate so u can treat the family to reduce the guilt you feel from spending your spare time on line. And smashing the lap top at the suck outs youve suffered in those 40 games, ignoring the dog whinging to go for a walk til its too late.... just one more game and youll be level again....
or get a poker/life/work balance.
Alternatively, divorce her, sell the dog, and when that strike rates up, use it for the maintainance for the kids and D2N till the cows come home
Decisions decisions !
