did i do the right thing

my reading of this villian are he is tight.
he doesn't do much betting post flop even if he has raised to 20p preflop, so bluffs seem to be easy to do against him most times

when he made the bet i thought to myself he has top pair so went for the raise and it seems he  got scared so folded.
was it my bet size that caused him to get scared or should i have just called his bet and shove on the turn.

uhh i would be flat calling in position to let himstab at it again on the turn you might even be scaring off a Q raising this heavy hes already pot sized it

It's fine. If he's folding he probably didn't have anything so you'd have struggled to get more value from him whatever action you took. Maybe you could have raised to £1.20 instead but it's unlikely to have made any difference.
