Anyone off to the Nuts Poker Nationals?

Does anyone here play in the nuts poker league? The national finals are held over the next 2 weekends, tomorrow in Bristol and Saturday 9th in Stoke, i qualified for the Stoke one, qualified in my first season, will be my first time at a casino, got to admit i am buzzing for it haha.

Anyone else qualified, or know anyone who has?

    Congrats on making the nationals . I made the regionals but got my dates mixed up and missed it
    GL - 1st time in a casino - You,ll love it and will no doubt come back learning something new

    GL and look forward to the updates after you.ve played it

    Ps - Not 100% sure but think barbie59 has qualified for one of those (I,ll ask him and get him to post if he has)

    Thanks very much, i had to work hard to qualify, i came 2nd last in the highrollers (top 2 qualified) and 15th in the regionals where i lost a big pot flopping trips, and the other guy had a full house haha. Would have made me chip leader but oh well :P i came 2nd at the champion of champions to qualify, so was chuffed with that.

    Aye, i can't wait for my first experience at a casino, always wanted to go to one since i started playing poker, there just isn't one near me at all so it will be a great day out. Looking forward to the free buffet and drinks provided i have to admit ;)

    And aye, ask him to post in this topic, if he is going to stoke we might be playing against each other lol.

    i have qualified to stoke before, a convenient strip club up the road too lol if you bust, and a good night out!, i dont play in the league these days but a few of my poker friends fron north wales have qualified so good luck to them...

    it is good but i nearly had a fight at the table with the t wat of a dealer(just a player nominated to be a dealer not a house dealer), i was speaking welsh to another welsh man (as you do), table got rattled and was told off; game did not even start, i carried on as i was pis sed off, and some ugly old bat spoke out about us being in England yada yada, so when the game began i basically donked my stack in tilt, you would think a national tourney, pretty much for free, you would get a bit of fun, and not to be so serious...and you get t wats ruining the experience......

    Oh and the dealer was so slow i called the clock on him lmao

    hahaha, i'm sure my experience will be better than yours, i hope so anyway!

    Ya ive got my seat to stoke on the 9th though the Lancashire final, come 4th on the day so also won one of them BIG TICKET SEATS, where the top 8 in that get seats into EPT AND UKIPT EVENTS. That game ant till feb 2014 so long way to wait for that, but its something good to play for just from a £5 or £10 game, think alot depends on which venue u play at to make it a good game good night as well.

    How do you get a big ticket seat? I qualified for the national coming 2nd at the champion of champions tournament for the south lincolnshire league lol. Main thing for me is to enjoy myself though, first experience at a casino, free food and drink.. should be a cracking day overall :)

    In lancashire finals the top 8 all got an extra seat into this game in feb 2014 not sure, poss be different in other areas?

    Didn't go too well yesterday, twice in the first 20 minutes i flopped top pair, top kicker with ace-queen and ace-king only to see my opponent flopped a set lol. Then the hand i went out on was quite terrible to be honest, i raised it pre flop with ace-queen, get one caller and the flop comes queen high, i c-bet, he calls. Turn is a 9 or something, i bet again and he calls. The river is a king, scary card for me but i decide to shove as it's unlikely he had a king given the action so far, but then he calls and shows king-7 off suit... he called me all the way with king high, then got lucky on the river lol. I thought they're would be a lot of good players playing, guess I was wrong, everyone on my table were calling stations and limping in pre flop with any 2 cards haha.

    But nevertheless i had a great time, i had a go at blackjack and roulette and the cash poker game as well. Lost £100 in total but oh well, i was either going to come home richer or lose it all, unfortunately it was the latter :P haha.

    Brilliant day out though, great experience :)
