In light of the introduction of these new Sit & Gos - see here for details

How do you think they will play vs a DYM?

Thanks

Well they will definitely encourage more 'play' than a DYM because the old 'it doesn't matter if you cash with 5 chips or 5000' is gone.

Now scraping in past the bubble with 5 chips will probably even result in a loss given the rake

Assuming a £2 DYM.. there's £12 in the prizepool and 3 of them will get £2 each, so that leaves £6 to be divided out between the remaining 3. Which means each 2000 chips is worth £1 so might be tough getting a decent ROI to be honest, because you'd need to cash AND have 4000+ chips just to actually double your money.

Be interested to see what some people who play them think.

A lot more play. The importance of winning chips is significantly greater in a 50/50 than a DYM and the impact of the bubble is reduced.

The uber-nitty DYM regs will hate 50/50s, they'll cash as often but they'll win less money each time they do. However I expect the majority of players to prefer 50/50 over DYM, the cheaper rake at the lower levels being an added attraction.

STT players new to Sky who've previously played at competitor sites will feel a lot more at home when they see 50/50s in the lobby.

Obviously you will need to end with more than 1/3 of the chips in play(what ever that is can't see starting stack size mentioned in lobby?) to make it more profitable than a standard dym.

They're nowhere near as interesting to play as DYMs.

More aggro play around and just before bubble than a DYM
Accumalation of chips leading up to bubble is where u win the money

our opinions of the definition of the word interesting are obviously at polar opposites.

Just played a couple. first 1 was a wash out.

In the 2nd one the toughest thing was around the bubble, trying to gague what level the other players are on, are they prioritising the cash or playing a more high varience strategy.

It's hard to tell readless & so hard to know what I should be doing.

    beats dyms tho!

Fair enough - let's hope there are enough of both types of games to keep us both happy.
