AA facing a re raise on a flushy flop...

edited March 2013 in The Poker Clinic
This is early stages of a low stake deep stack, oppo has been in a few pots but not been playing bonkers.

Do i need to get busy here or is it an easy lay down??

    limp cold calls pre then goes nuts looks like a pretty standard fold for me. If we;re not behind already i think we're against alot of equity.

    I'd put him on an overpair to the board and he's trying to protect his hand.. but you are deep so maybe it was a good spot to fold and pick another spot? You should submit it for poker clinic on the channel so we can find out what they're holding. I would say that pocket 9s and 10s are also within their range here i think.

    limp call of a big raise pre suggests high pairs or AK, AQ.best guess is you are ahead but they hold an A or K of spadesin which case everything from fold to shove works depending on your style

    Even if we are ahead on the flop, he has lots of outs, if he's sitting with Ace spades 10 o/s, he is slightly ahead.

    If he has 9s or 10s, we are totally crushed, If he's hut his flush again we are drawing almost dead.

    If he had shoved to your raise i am calling all day long, the min raise smacks of strength, i would fold here and pick a better spot. I take it you called?

    FYI, we would be ahead in this example

    Yes with an Ace correct, any K spades 10 hand then they are sligtly ahead or 50 50

    Yeah it's...

    Board: Ts 3s 9s
    Dead:

        equity     win     tie           pots won     pots tied
    Hand 0:     50.707%      50.71%     00.00%                502             0.00   { KsTh }
    Hand 1:     49.293%      49.29%     00.00%                488             0.00   { AcAd }

    BUT, there's 1200 already in the pot, so imagine you both had to put 2000 chips in each and see a showdown, you're paying 2000 to win 2000 + 2000 + 1200. So as soon as there is dead money in the pot, flipping is +EV, even more so if you have FE.
