Bet just a smidge bigger on the flop but not a big deal. I'd also still bet the turn, it's not a great card but you should still be ahead lots.

As played, think you should fold river.

Personally, I would of bet the turn in hope of him either folding to a second barrel, or him calling and checking to you on the river and you checking back for showdown. I feel that is the only way you get to showdown for cheap. He will probably bet the river nine times out of ten when you have checked the turn, even if he only has a J because he can't put you on a K or you would of bet the turn. Just food for thought but it was probably a good fold on your half, would be interested to know what he had.

sigh river i folded any river card apart from that i would call the reason i checked back the turn  he could easily have a random 2 pair or k q and my hand is vulnerable to king queen lots of outs so played it small ball pot control just a sigh river

You say that you think a lot of 2 pairs get there OTT but only KT and JT does. If these 2 hands are in his range then it follows that stuff like QT, KQ, QJ, AJ, 9T, J9, K9, AK are in his range so by not betting the turn you're letting him draw to all his potential outs and have to potentially play a guessing game on a lot of rivers.

Admittedly stack sizes are quite awkward here but this could have been less of a problem if you'd bet the flop bigger. We don't have too many bluffs in our range when we bet the flop 3 way and so we should be betting larger with our entire range. A 3/4 bet or so, maybe around 1500-1600 would allow for a pot sized shove OTT.
