If you limped because you wanted one of your opponents to raise behind you, why didn't you get it in pre-flop after that has happened? I know you were probably expecting a shove from one of those players but even if we think that smaller raise must mean an overpair, I don't think we can set mine when the effective stack is so shallow. If this raise size doesn't always signal an overpair, then why not just get it in?

Even against the deepest opponent in the hand, who has around 20BB, we barely have the implied odds to set mine if they always pay us. This deeper stacked player isn't the player who has made the raise, though, so we can't give him the super-narrow range we'd need to in order to justify the set-mine at this price.

So I don't think we can just call the raise, pre-flop. Either get it in if we think our hand is going to be best alot of the time or fold if we think the action indicates we're probably beat.

As it happens, I don't like this overlimp unless we have a really strong reason to think that one of the blinds will raise light. Just hoping that they will isn't too great. If we don't have that good reason to believe they will raise, then we should just raise the button ourselves and call any shove.
