Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
What is the sense in this new mtt longshot seems daft to me
50 p buy in n start with 500 chips
£5.50 rebuy for 2000 chips
and addon £5.50 for 5000 chips
might aswell be a £5.50 rebuy tourney lol y the 500 chips to start with bit pointless
scrap the 500 chips to start with braindead idea

It's like Sky are trying to make money out of us, who'd have thunk it?
There's a £1,000 guarantee, it will need re-buys to make that gtd, and you're right, alot of players will treat it as a £5.50 re-buy, but........ it does give the opportunity for micro players to have a punt and do a big bink, I see no problem with that at all.
I'll play it tonight on the 50p freebie and see how I go, it's not impossible to win it from there, just highly improbable!
Surely the whole point is, you have a (small) chance to win a big 1st prize for a tiny outlay. If the rebuys and add-ons are 50p too then the prizepool won't get nearly as big.
You are assuming that everyone who plays it is going to have a Re-Buy & the add on - Some will, some won't, but for those micro stakes players who are happy to take a "Longshot" at winning a decent prize for just 50p then its certainly not pointless at all.
The structure is just fine imo - 10min Blinds is long enough for micro players who want to sit and wait for that all important double-up and then they can start playing poker using table position etc.
What is the sense in this new mtt longshot seems daft to me.
I'd say the chances of this tournament being repeated with the same buy-in and guarantee are a longshot.
Obviously players rolled for them either did play a 50p tourney or for some reason(only they can explain) did not take them.
