PLO8 Dealers

edited May 2013 in Poker Chat
Its been mentioned before that PLO8 players are a different breed , which got me wondering about the live dealers.
Its hard enough when you're playing to work out if you've got the best hand or not , but how do the dealers cope?
Are there specialist dealers who get specific training?
Cheers

Any competent Dealer should be fine with PLO8, a bigger problem is the players, who frequently want to interfere, or "help". OK, they make a few mistakes, but, shock horror, so do poker players.

Best to let the Dealers deal, & the players play.

With so many split pots, it can get complicated, especially when there are multi-way all-ins, & side pots, splits, & "quartered" hands.

Then the players start touching the chips, 5 of them tell the dealer different things, & it all gets ridiculous.

Stop it, I feel a rant coming on.....

This is actually a good question.

I got into a huge arguement with a dealer once, basically i had K7 on a board of 22227 v 88. Anyways the dealer started moving the chips to my opponent, then looked bamboozled when i said i had quads with a K kicker. Thankfully it was a tournament and he called floor for me to get a sit out, floor then explained i was right.

Turns out the dealer in question had never dealt hold em because he was only a reserve for this tournament and only normally dealt for PLO and PLO8
