I assume the train is the best way to go. what´s the best way to buy tickets these days? Posted by GELDY
I'm not going to birmingham this weekend but use the line for business quite a lot. Use www.trainline.com. You have two options to go from euston or marylebone. The site will give you all the prices and the best options.
I wouldnt go direct to a train company as invariably you dont get the cheapest tickets. Friday afternoon/early evening prices may be quite expensive.
3 hours sitting on a london bus, seems like something will be sore! £4 is the cheapest price, you can go by train £10-£15 each way if you book each leg seperately.
Im surprised you havent mentioned any bridges en route to birmingham Tikay!

I would personally go by train, as its much better experience. And the price is still very good, especially as I have a 16-25 railcard.
However when i went to watch bradford at aston villa i went by mega bus for £3, was basically empty and didnt find it uncomfortable at all.
Driving up Friday leaving from near gatwick if you can get there/m25 I will give you a lift Posted by frascati
thanks for the offers
as it is i'm now going up on Sat by train
downloaded a nice little android app from Chiltern Railways, painless booking and received a ticket direct to the phone - no hassle with having to pick it up from anywhere! £27.50 with an open off-peak return. used thetrainline.com to compare and check prices first - very helpful thanks all
