Evening James and Ryan. Just tuned in - i have a very good excuse of just getting home from the SPT.
Quick question, what are both your thoughts, in a dealer dealt game, the dealer taking the small blind to "protect his cards" - James may can explain this better.
Good to see you both this weekend and was a interesting to play with James again.
Hey James. My 1st SPT at Birmingham yesterday and sat next to you most of the evening in the side. Was it just me or was that a crazy table we were on. Seemed to be never a dull moment. Drinks being spilt, interesting house rulings and no Proper system to show 2 tournaments running at the same time. I think me and you spent most of the evening trying to work out, what the blinds were, when the break was, entrys, average stack etc.... was great fun though and had a real good time. Thanks for a good evening. Great show as ever. Gruntfish1 (Grant)
I was on the table were Solack hand was mucked and once the casino made it very clear that no one was going anywhere near the muck to retrieve his cards I think we did the only thing that was fair by letting solack take back his chips. Had a great day yesterday and thank goodness James was on the final table to divvy up the pay outs otherwise I think we would still be playing now. Good luck in vegas Ryan.
Met lots of happy friendly sky regs at the SPT this weekend, great to put faces to names - especially the legendary HitSquad bunch. Let's get the Notts satellites off and running and do it all again!
Just harking back to a couple of things you guys discussed earlier tonight....
Firstly, I was at SPT Birmingham yesterday, and played both the main event and the side event later in the evening. I too witnessed a noticeable difference in the table atmosphere between both events.
The SPT event was a joy to play in, as always, with plenty of friendly banter. At one point I had the pleasure of sharing a table with both TommyD and Jamie-Lou.
The side event, however, had much more of an edge to it and was much less fun to play in, which I can only put down to the influx of local players and their reasons for, and attitude to, playing poker as opposed to why most of us were there. Thankfully, the uneasy atmosphere on my table was lifted, at different times, by the presence of Sky players Uncle Pat, MattBates, and Bromley04. Thank guys!
I have to hold my hand up to being one of those players who was timing out on the bubble at the last Super Roller, and was on Ryan's table at the time that he commented in the Chat Box about how this was a serioiusly bad tactic which was only hurting ourselves. I took his advice, changed my tactics, and started to move things on quicker, which proved to be very beneficial for me as I eventually cashed in 3rd place.
p.s. one downside (for Ryan) from my taking his advice was that I was the one who beat him in a hand that severely dented his chip stack, and soon after he crashed out. Sorry mate!
Fancy creating an amusing caption for this photograph taken at SPT Birmingham...? If someone comes up with something REALLY good, we may be able to award a spot prize :-) Posted by J-Hartigan
Caption - Tikay reminisces about past trips to Vegas whilst browsing through old pictures, when he stumbles across an image of what appears to be him and James beating their pugil sticks.

Rich is saying - "Right, then. that's agreed. The winner never has to work with Tikay again."
Great show as always James
That's another one of those shows you could sell tickets for. All the best sitcoms have a live audience.

Presenters Hartigan and Orford visit Tikay at the hero call rest home.
Then it's best of three to decide who gives him the bed bath
Caption competition:
Hartigan: Hey, Teeks, what we gonna do?
Tikay: I don't know. What you wanna do?
Orford: I've got it! Let's flap over to the east side of the jungle. They've always got a bit of action, a bit of a swingin' scene, all right.
Hartigan: Aw, come off it. Things are right dead all over.
Orford: You mean you wish they were.
[all laugh]
Tikay: [serious] Very funny.
