mid stakes SNG: just got caught- good call by villain or click and hope??

Okay so its pretty early to be 3 betting light (3rd hand in) but its the first hand i played so i was suprised to see villain 9 7 off. Just wondering how my line looks to others, when he check called the flop OOP i put him on 88 99 10 10, Q J. So i 2nd barrell turn as I feel he passes most of his range here.. when he calls i think he must have a Q and was passing the river, until the miracle ace hits and i couldnt resist it

so what do you think was villain right to check call 3 streets against an unknown oppo??
should have given up when he C-calls the flop OOP??

unlucky the move didnt get through. I think it was a well calculated bluff but u got caught. villain probably decided to check call any river.

LOL - dont think that changes their opinion.  UL you ran into a SNG hero tho, 3rd hand - if he's wrong he starts again if he's right he gets his sherifs badge.

I would fold pre (cash diff from SnG's, just be a nit in L1 &2 imo), but if i was going to 3b I would make it more.

I like your line post flop fwiw and think his call /w 7's is kind of bad.

Your line is fine, his call is pretty horrific, but if he is calling 3 barrels like this then checking back the turn and repping the A isn't going to work either, after he has called flop just give up.
