Battle of the mains (Double chance)

edited July 2013 in Poker Chat
I didn't use my "Second chance" before the hour break, so surely I should of got this an an auto add-on after the 60 minutes was up? I was only on around 2k so was being careful just before the break so I could have 4k for when we came back... Isn't this how it works everywhere else? I know it is in my local casino!

The double chance is essentially a "re-entry" once you are down to zero chips.

Its similar to the old "Thews at Ten" tourney - I remember if we only had a few hundred chips left just before the break, we used to donk them off so we could have the re-entry.

Well once again then, it's called the wrong thing. lol. It should have a note on the lobby I think, something like "Second chances can not but used as an add-on at the break"

If you have to pay for the second stack, it's not a "double chance" it's just a regular 1x rebuy.

I agree it's badly named in that case.

Oh wow, I didn't even realise you had to pay for the rebuy! In that case, yes it's deffo named wrong.

Every other online site has it named as the exact same thing.

    IMO it's fairly self-explanatory.

    Double Chance. Hmmmmmm.

i think it is what it says on the tin for me, its called double chance, and if you get knocked out you get another chance to re enter. there called the same thing on ladbrookes.

on an other note though i cnt believe it actually beat the rebuy main, gutted.

Every place (online and live) where something is called a double chance i pay to re-enter the tournament once i have lost all of my chips.

Not really, yes it got more runners, but the Double Chance generated a smaller prize-pool than the Rebuy and ran with overlay. All three of the new trial Main Events have run with overlay so far.

obviously that will be the case though you were only allowed 2 rebuys in the double chance, in the rebuy main most people double rebuy straight away and its unlimited aswell, plus the add on so it was allways going to be a bigger prize pool, the tournament returning next week was to be based on who got the most runners.

Well, I don't play MTT's on other sites (or this one, usually) but down at my local casino a double chance is a single buy-in, with two separate stacks. You request the second at any time or get it at the first break.

If this is not the regular use of the term, then I bow to the mass wisdom.
