If you think he's only gonna call with Ax on the flop then don't bet the flop.

If you think he can call wider than Ax on the flop, then we can continue on the turn.

As out of position pre I think you should raise more (950 - 1100) Then flop I would never recommend betting half pot you will find a fair amount of players will put you on a big pair and will call to test you on the turn. (Well I would with any 2 whilst in position)........not all the time

Not saying he doesn't have the ace as he likely does but by not making him feel uncomfortable with bet sizing pre and flop he can afford to do these things if he is capable of it.

Kind of as Lambert says aswell if he has JT he calls that bet and when you check he sees weakness and bets so you lose to a worse hand, if you bet more pre then 65% of the pot he cannot or will find it more difficult to call with anything but an ace. You lose more in some circumstances (not much more) but you stop yourself getting bluffed off pots.

Pre: Probably raising to 1000 being out of pos. Still, dont think its the worst raise size. After all you DO want a call.

Post: Urgh, our worst nightmare. Check/calling is probably best here as on this board your really only getting called by an A and frigten off the hands your beating like KQ, JJ etc.

Turn: Fold. Most players are not calling then betting the turn with worse. Your just not deep enough and your still not commited to the pot. Yes, he could be bluffing but the way the action has gone that is reduced.

his calling range on the flop is not the same as his calling range on the turn

i'd c/f flop, if you want to cbet you can bet smaller

I would probly play it the same way as he doesent always have an ace in this spot but i dont think he is going to float with hands ur beating ever as the pot was sooo inflated pre so i think u played it fine by check folding the turn
