Has anyone ever...

edited August 2013 in Poker Chat
Just wondering.  As i've seen a lot of people try the DYM challenge... moving up stakes in each DYM you win.

Has anyone ever done the same in cash?

As in...

Sat on NL4 - left with £8
Sat on NL8 - left with £10
Sat on NL10 - left with £20
Sat on NL20 - left with £50
Sat on NL50 - left with £100
Sat on NL100 - left with £200
Sat on NL200 - left with £300
Sat on NL300 - left with £500
Sat on NL500 - left with £1000
Sat on NL1000 - left with £2000

All from the same £4 with no rebuys?

I can imagine its very very difficult, however variance in cash isnt as harsh as a structure with increasing blinds.  Anyone ever done it?  Or has anyone tried?

Gone FROM 4NL to 1kNL, if that counts? Not w/1BI though... (although not far off! :P)

I don't think this challenge will ever end in success (as posted anyway), sadly. Anyone that plays poker seriously isn't gunna sit at 4NL to begin with, even if it is a sick run-good story, or with the hopes of running it up to 2k. And anyone trying to parlay that sorta money up is just making a ridic decision to keep punting their roll into cash game until they bink their 250/1 shot. Even then, a couple of hundred quid is a lot of money to most people, and would be silly to gamble anything that you can't afford to lose.

A more interesting propersition would be to run up a 20bb stack up to, idk, 1000bb or something. Pheasable for players at any level too. :)

I think at the right time of day £4>£200 with good table selection and hands holding up is very doable.

Tempted to give it a go tonight

dont see the point us using 8nl though, just stay at 4nl /> £10

I think a few people have probably done it the other way around:

Sat at NL1000, lost the lot.
Sat at NL500, lost the lot.
Sat at NL300, lost the lot.
    etc...
