Can anyone explain Franks (name changed) thought process here?

This was the very last hand of the £500 1 hour timed freeroll, we were all aware it was the last 45 secs as a pop up came in the chatbox.

Had he c/folded , he would have won £1.70/1.80 ish. Double up would have been £3.40/3.50 ish.

Any ideas ??

Or he realised there was a straight on board, and thought it was unlikely the villian had 8x (the only hand that can beat him) and didnt wanna be taken off a chop.
