Asinine cricketers might refer to a teams nickname. I dont follow cricket butis there a team with a name that fits. Asinine as welll asmeaning stupid  gets its root from 'like an a $ s, or  donkey. Might be important.

Asinine might mean a short synonym like DIM  

Cricketers might again be a nickname or mean SIDE or XI etc.

Lose when not out might refer to removing the letters N + O or I + N

Fifty often refers to the letter L in cryptics, so we may need to add that in.

No idea on this one, but might help someone who does...

acd are 134 in alphabet

fir = first of first third of third and fourth of fourth

Is it an anagram of some of the words in this sentence (and adding an r)

Just throwing some things out there - one might be heading in right direction (although probably not)

1st bash = scramble letter & r.  removing A,C,and D

leaves us with... srmbler  letter & an = 15 letters

or remove LTT leaves ...eer and scramble r = 15

 Spot on. The clue is how you change the word death into the word her. Hence death becomes her
