I was wondering about the share the limelight bit

Is it as in something about a stage or billing?

or is it an indication the letters from limelight are shared with others for the answer?

I thought of dog & ape + limelight for example but that is 1 too many chars

  Sharing the limelight indicates a similarity between the two but something that is done singularly. So a non-plural answer
