AK at the FT facing min donk bet/ big river bet

edited September 2013 in The Poker Clinic
Player is really passive, they check fold when they miss.

When they min bet, my gut instinct was to reraise, but decided against it as i'm convinced they have a piece of the board.

Basically, i can't see them folding to a raise. If they bet big on the turn i fold, when it's another min bet, i don't think it's terrible calling.

On the river, would you be calling/ folding or raising?

    Im never raising the river.

I'd just call.  However when usually faced with a donk bet so small on the flop I treat it as a check and raise.  Then if they show proper resistance you can shut down on turn/river  After all you have position so you can afford to be a bit more aggressive.

Normally ya might raise these donk leads but what's the point in reads if you aint gonna use them.

Passive player who always check/folds decides to donk the flop, can't see much point in raising cos I doubt they'll fold. Not loving calling cos we're basically just hoping to hit one of our 6 outs which is only gonna happen like 1in10 times on the next card AND we don't even know if hitting gives us the best hand and if we don't hit we don't know he's gonna bet that small again, but we're getting a decent price so we should prob call. Hard to fold turn cos we're now not getting far off the 1in10 chance of hittin on the river, and we gotta assume there are some implied odds to get a little bit more out of him if we hit.

Pretty puke river really cos we feel like we have to call now, but again going with your reads, passive villian who check/folds missed flops decides to suddenly bet, bet, bet.... it's not a great sign.

Call and expect to be beat lol by Aces up imo lol

    Call river.

No need to raise flop or turn based on reads.

I just called the river bet, looking back at this i really dislike my flop play, any1 else i'd have raised them here.

I'm sure they have hut the board, can they fold to a raise? Probably not. If they can definatly fold i have to raise., but though the chances were slim.
