Woe-less Weekend!

edited October 2013 in Poker Chat

Morning all - it's Saturday-HappyDay.

You know the drill by now - what are you up to this weekend, where you going, watching any Live sport, had any bets, gonna play any particular Sky Poker Tourney?

Weather has turned nippy, so lot of players coming back to the site for the winter. Lovely.

The Doubled Guarantee thing continues tonight & tomorrow. It missed the Double Guarantee last night by TWO runners! England football was on the TV, that is always bad for poker. But good for Sky Bet. ;)

I might play the Main Event tonight & tomorrow, but mainly I'll be playing PLO8 DYM's all weekend, getting ready for the STT Double Rewards which starts on Monday. Practice, see?

    Anyone watching the Darts?

Chizzy was awesome last night, he blew MVG away, but I think he might struggle against Pipe tonight, Pipe plays soooooo s-l-o-w-l-y, the complete opposite to MVG, & Chizzy may have an adrenelin hangover. Maybe Chizzy will be too strong, but 21/10 is definitely VALUE.

I'm on Taylor for the outright though, @ 2/1 & 9/4. He is 4/9 now. Ooh, Value Pie.

    Japanese Grand Prix, too.

Vettel please, if not, Hamilton, have Vettel to win the Championship (win only) & Hamilton EW. Always a dramatic race @ Suzuka.

Anyone watch Strictly Come Dancing? Thought not. Hoped not, too.

Ben Cohen to get the boot, please. Had £5 @ 25/1 a while back, thanks to SPT Rich.

Jeez, how bad is that Show to watch?

Can you name a WORSE TV Show than Strictly Come Dancing? Except for X-Factor, obv.

    Morning Tikay,

Yeah, it's time to stop wearing short sleeves and skirts, and get the winter coat out from the back of the closet. The most exciting part of my day will be going to the post office depot to collect a parcel I missed when I was at work. I haven't ordered anything, so that will be a Kinder Surprise for me.

I may have a go at a few PLO games as well - I still have a lot to learn about that game. I find it extremely difficult to 'put people on ranges' in PLO. I just don't know how it can be done in that game. It's hard enough in hold em, with just two cards.

Horse Racing, BIG day today, the Cesarewitch.

Did you now that race was first run in 1839? Incredible. Love the tradition in Horse Racing.

Love finding the winner of it, too, 8/1 the field anyone?

Am on Tiger Cliff, for Lady Cecil, @ 12/1 & 10/1. More Value Pie......

Come on then, name your Cesarewitch pick.

Ahh, Susan, yeah, you watched the Show then! Fun show that, Anna is such a lovely kid, what you see is what you get.

I agree, it is tough to assign so-called "ranges" in PLO. Concentrate on your OWN hand, do you have nut draws, extensions, improvers, is it vulnerable, that sorta thing. Omaha is a HIGH CARD game really, so paint is important. Run downs, but only to the top end, gapped connectors (run-downs) are good, with one gap, but the gap needs to be at the BOTTOM, not the top, so 7-9-10-J is much much better than 7-8-9-J, because we want to wrap to the TOP end. Gapped run-downs are very good, but give up on the flop if you don't hit it hard.

Enjoy, PLO & PLO8 are absolutely wonderful games, you need to think all the time. I find PLO8 DYM's incredibly relaxing, we'll never win much, but we'll not lose much, either.

Still visiting my wife in Leeds - and fingers crossed this will be the last weekend I say that! She is making good progress.

Will miss PNE v Crewe this afternoon - can the whites bounce back from their first defeat of the season?

Apparently Coolio will be there - all of the back of a viral video on that tubey internet ting.

I wont post a link but search coolio preston students.

I just hope no one decides to put a statue up.

On the tables I had a terrible week so I have set myself an STT challenge for next week to bring some focus and I will get some practice in over the weekend.

That is the Preston to Leeds & back drive, across the M62, yes? Dreadful drive.

Fingers crossed she is soon back home.

Found out last night that i qualified in the rake race at my local casino for a satilite into the world series main event today. Sothere are about 50 runners to get the seat judging by the people i will be playing against i think i can realistically shorted that to 1/10 chance of getting there. More than a little excited to have a chance to play for such a big prize! :)

    Good arfternoon Tikay.

I skipped the usual Vettel 'treble' bet this weekend as I thought I was pushing my luck after two scores on the trot. Phew - Webber got pole!
I would wish you good luck with your SV bet, but barring an all-out alien invasion of this planet we call Earth, I think he's got it.

    Have a great weekend.

PS, yes I'm following the darts too. Propa spor'

    Afternoon gents.

I shall be playing the monthly deepstack at a casino in Leeds in a couple of hours. Possibly with half a shandy in my hand for the duration.

Then as and when I bust that, I intend to rinse the locals at the cash tables before heading home. It does mean that I miss the Main Event tonight :(

Then working Sunday (boo), but back in plenty of time for the £20k Primo. I really want to win this. Like, really.

Yep, you're right - Japanese GP is always a mad race. We've already seen a number of crashes and incidents throughout practice & qualifying.

Personally, I don't think Vettel will win the title this weekend. He'll win the race, but not the title - I expect the latter to happen at the Indian GP.
