Then were seeing a flop 5 way, and AK kinda shrivels up

We don't know we're gonna see it 5way, and I'd rather play AK multiway than 4bet.

If we 4bet and get shoved on, we have to 4bet/fold which is puke cos we're dead meat getting AKo in this deep against most people but we've put a TON of our stack in with AK and not even seen a flop. Even if we 4bet and don't get shoved on, what are we getting flatted by? Not AQ ever imo, so sometimes AA/KK and some pairs that we're flipping with that probably won't put money in on most flops when we hit unless they've flopped better than us. So we likely get nothing when we hit, and lose more when we don't, and we won't bbe able to bluff often cos the only scare cards will be the ones that actually give us TP.

I'm not folding if theres a 5 bet shove. The chips are going in.

Yeah I know, and you'll be be in awfullll shape.

They never 5bet ship AQ, almost definitely never JJ, probably rarely is it gonna be QQ, so you're chopping or against AA/KK tons.

I think you need pretty strong reads/history to get AK in pre this deep/early.

TBH can argue a fold bearing in mind position as we can flop the A or K and still be in really bad shape if this goes multi way.

    Really? why?
You've got a million bigs at this stage and are a good player. Just no need at this stage to be closing our eyes, throwing our chips in and hoping for the best

if we give our oppenents some credit:

we've raised UTG so our range is strong even if we've been active in position

the SB can see this and has 3bet us so we have to credit him with having strength in his range

the BB seeing  SB 3bet the UTG [ie the two worst positions on the table going to war] cold calls.

they are showing real strentgh and AK shrivels in value here deep-stacked

    cheers,

Because i want a stack mate. With the almost min 3 bet, i doubt they have aces or kings. So i'm happy to race even thought it's really early. Or they are totally dominated.

I would rather fold than call. I don't want to play AK 5 way, there has been 2 callers behind, they are not going to fold their  junk to a just more than min raise.

As it turns out 3 better had 9s, other player had 7 9!!

I can't believe either called to be fair.

I know it is wrong getting AK in this deep pre because I do have an edge, and dont need to be flipping so soon.

But when i 4 bet so big I wasn't folding, that was the plan, i wasn't going to 4 bet fold 2 a 5 bet.

Flatting pre is fine. Yes it's not ideal to go to a flop multi-way with AK but given what the SPR will be post flop we'll have an easy time playing it. If we flop an A or K we can go with our hand in most circumstances and if we don't flop anything it's easy enough to c/f
