should i have checked the turn?

edited November 2013 in The Poker Clinic
i am starting to question weather or not i am going over the top with my betting in these spots.
what has happened a lot in the last week is 3 times i have jammed and find out he was holding that 4th card.

when i look at it afterwards i question weather or not i should have did such a big bet. especially having raised preflop.
when he called the turn i was cautious of him having trips but it was when that 3rd 10 came i then sensed him having A6.
what i thought after loosing was should i have just checked my QQ on the turn like i would if my hand was AK.

i'm not trying to be results orientated.

what it is with this hand is I've raised preflop so hands normally expected are AK-A10 KQ and pair 99+ maybe 77-88.

if i were to check the turn they would still not know my hand but i'm thinking a jam give it away.

No way. You're getting paid off by 6x, 77, 88, 99, JJ  and maybe even 22-55 if they think you're bluffing. Have to get it in on the turn.

    Unlucky.
