I just decided to try a higher level SNG at £5.50 because I do ok in the lower ones.

So blinds are upto 50/100 and the small blind flat calls.

I shove with my AK,  why did he call?  Anyone?

From your participation on the other thread I can only assume because you think he knew something because of a dodgy rng! Can I ask then if you sharkscope the player has he made loads of money?

Truth is nobody knows why someone calls whether it be drunk, misclick, chasing, tilting etc etc but he did and got lucky. On jac's thread in the main poker chat section someone called his river raise with the absolute worst hand you could have. The guy wasn't beating ANY other hand. Why he called-who knows!

Perhaps s/he thought my oppo has just jammed 18bbs here so what would he do that with? The conclusion probably was at worst he would be up against AK and would have a 35/40% chance of winning here with live cards and even if I lose then I will still have a very playable stack. If I win boom.

Yep, I suppose in the long run you do want that call, just wasn't good for the short term in that particular game.  Keeps me from playing any more £5.50 games until I recoup the loss.

Sounds like a bankroll management problem there. 

If it helps:
I moved up a level when I had 40 buy ins at that level (i.e. £220 for £5.5 DYM'S). If I dropped below 30 buy ins (i.e. £165 for £5.5 DYM'S) I would drop down to the £3 games again until I got up to the £220 again.

As I said that's a fairly conservative BRM and many choose to be way more aggressive than that but give yourself a decent shot at them when moving up not just one game and then back down would be my advice.
