    poker poetry, rahhh.

    lets do some haiku's

    when holding ace high
    wondering as TK bets big
    call a bluff? no... quads.

    -

    hopes fade as cards fall
    across, behind another screen
    holidays are booked

    -

    the flop wraps my connectors
close, no gaps just my own skill
    board pairs; such rotten luck

    My poor effort, bit rusty.

    Music ready the table loads
Some new names I'll watch and note
    Dream is over lost again

    Cold dark nights drawing in
    Heating warms my body
    Full houses warm my heart

Can I make the final table
    Does it really matter
    When I've made new friends?

I don't do poetry, but threads like this cheer me up. Anyone who can afford to play a little bit of Poker has every reason to be reasonably content with their life.

    Dishes done
    Dogs walked
    Tables spawned
    Hands won?

    Late night
    Play tight
    Final table?
    Just might…………

I did a 6 month Open University course a few years ago and part of it was Japanese Haiku. I'd never had an interest in poetry before then but really connected with Haiku. Your post inspired me lol.

Thumbs up to Pad just for this

    Friday is here,
    And the week end starts.
    Everyone is chilling,
And all are in good heart.

    There maybe another massive fiasco,
But, for the the forum folk in the know..
Just chuck it all in that concrete mixer
And along comes Tikay; The fixer.

^^^ Yeah, dismal I know.....but hungover and just come out of AL's Bar.

We're on the final table, I pick up aces.
I raise again, just look at their faces,
They dont believe me this time - ive done it before,
and got to showdown with seven four.

I get three-bet big by the big blind,
Little does he know, that I don't mind,
The stacks are shallow... I can just call,
and let him decide to bet it all.

He falls for the trap and bets the flop,
It comes Queen high, I doubt he can stop,
He is commiting for most of his stack,
He wont be seeing most of that back.

The turn is a two - a total blank,
He checks to me - I don't need a time bank
I bet it small, to induce a raise,
But he just calls, which does amaze.

He checks again, on a blank river,
A check to me, which gives me a shiver.
He's falling for it - im going to get paid,
Thats unless he was chasing the spades.

'All in!' I cry, as I move my stack in,
Snap called by villain - I can't wait to stack him,
Top set is shown, but not by hero,
I look at my chip stack - its now down to zero.

To think I thought i was the one trapping?
Out again thanks to my aces cracking
We're on the final table, I got dealt Ace Ace,
Am I glad?  Just look at my face.

    ;)

    to PLO!

    Big Slick!

    Chatbox grief
    "Dirty Thief!"   ;-)

    Flop peeled..
    WIN sealed!
    Just outdrew
