Recommend a Movie!

edited December 2016 in The Rail
Watched this film last night . Best film i,ve seen in a long time :

Wolf of Wall Street  De- Caprio plays a stockbrker who rises to the top through dodgy deals and gives an insight into Wall Street and the excesses they get up to with so much money to spend. Directed by Matin Scorsese

Was struggling to find a film to watch and remembered this thread, then noticed my last post

I watched a film the other night and have to say again it was the best film i,ve seen in ages. Another Wall St. one - "The Big Short". True story about the US housing collapse in 2008. (Got nominated for an oscar). Stars Christian Bale, Bradd Pitt, Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell

    Fascinating film esp. for gamblers

    Heres a trailor :

If you get a chance there is a film / doc that you will either love or hate.

Titled - "120 minutes that shook America" the film has no script and is a real time unfolding of the two hours from the impact of the first plane to the fall of the towers.

Using footage shot entirely by people caught up in the events and using genuine 911 calls the film portrays with brutal horror the attack on the W.T.C. and with no narrator to direct your attention you are left emotionally exposed as you watch firefighters and police going into situations that we later know they will not survive. I actually found myself pleading with a group not to go and assist but to run away as you know that the guys you are watching are going to their deaths.

From tha bodies jumping from the towers to the frantic pleas for help on the 911 despatchers lines this film is a heartbreaking vision of ordinary people facing a truly horrific situation. It will make you uncomfortable, it may well make you cry, but it is a piece of film making that everyone should see.
