i had a simular problem to you myself and it was that hand i wanted to request on the channel.

What i'm wondering is should a value bet be done knowing that if we get raised then we are certain to go behind but the benifit of it would be it can prevent them draws that have missed from actually making use fold using a bluff.

Not sure I love folding either in c/f situations. First hand, yes he could have flush or a 10, but blah not sure I love c/f. I'd rather put out a thin bet and be raised then auto give him credit for calling station to a flush. Second hand he goes pot-sized for the river bet. Quite big if he has a hand and has been checked to.

I dunno it's marginal for me, but I think in both cases I'd rather thin bet and be reraised over possibly being bluffed off. First hand I might even pay off given it's half pot bet. He raised pre and could well have AJ here. Not saying he does, but he could. I guess we are bluff catching, but blah, I just hate checki-folding rivers when I could well still be ahead.

I feel your pain craig!! i spose at first you have to determine what hands he's calling you with bearing in mind his position & then if any of those hands you beat? if you think you beat his range then go for value.

Craig, if your checking the river there your missing SOOOO much value. Checking the river there to check-call, not check-fold.

He is betting so many missed SD's + FD's. 

I'm bet folding the river £ 4.60 - £5.40

BTW, OP. Im check calling pretty much every river against this particular opponent with my history vs him.
