should you always call in this river spot?

edited February 2014 in Tournament Strategy
Without being results orientated, should you always call on the end in this situation or if you do shove, are you only getting called by a better flush?

Once villain raises we can only call, as when we reraise what can he have now that we expect to call us?  The chances of him having a flush is quite small so when we reraise we are now telling villain we have a flush and will only get called by better.  We fold all 2 pairs, sets etc.

Back door flushes are hard to make. Very unlucky here.
Yeah, I think we may fold out some hands but I'm sure we get called by the obvious straight plenty of times.

Understand what you're saying but in game I don't think Salazar has done much wrong.

i wouldn't re-open the betting on the river, just flat the raise without significant reads/history

    Flat river imo

I think it's the classic case of in game we can't wait to shovel the chips in on the river, it's only on reflection that we realise a flat is probably the better line.

Back door 10 high flush vs K high flush is pretty unfortunate though.

By raising the river what is calling?? I would like a lead on the flop or a raise, I like the way you played the turn.
