sky major

edited February 2014 in Poker Chat
whats the biggest possible guarenteed tournament that sky could run do we think? cosidering the traffic i know we couldnt have a sky million of course but i think a 200k gtd is very possible with a £220 buy in and satellites running for a lengthy period, could maybe have 3 of these a year or something with satelites running for 4 months at a time!!! the ukops festvials are brilliant but i think theres room for a major event like this, thoughts people???

£100,000 GTD bounty hunter, with a buy in of only £11.

Build it, and they will come ;)

Ah come on, you'd only have to win about 927 flips en route to the FT, easy game ;)

Serious answer....did the 40k Ukops main meet its GTD? Can't remember....but a load of big names turned out for it (Flushy, Toby Lewis etc).

Maybe a 50k £110 BI with sats running for weeks in advance, or a 100k £220 BI again with sats running well in advance.

I'm convinced the Sky honchos are looking into something like this. The 30k roller is a bit of a tester, I reckon...

toby lewis is 810ofclubs i believe, i had a look at his graph on sharksope and hes played 3 rollers and a £220 buy in event, i presume that was the 40k gtd, it fell short of gtd, only had 291 runners.

    291 x £200 = 58.6K so 18.6K over the GTD

They should definately have a 220 monthly or bi-monthly.    with it's own show.

the £110 is just another standard tourne now, call it what they want.

Need a speical tourne every so often,( they haveUKOPS mains i guess) so people can dream of buying/satting into that event and creating their own Chris Moneymaker story.

Do people remember who won the last few rollers ?  NOOO .   Need an event that people want to win, need some prestige.

I think SKY could do a £100k GT £250+25 entry with a lot of sats and promo.
I believe 400 is an attainable number for SKY to achieve.

But please dont have it the first sunday of the month as a lot of casinos have there big monthly live MTTs then also which I hate missing.

I think anything like this though would have to run towards the end of the year as traffic dips mid year due to weather, other events, etc.

Good idea, especially with the success of the UKPC.

I'm sure that 40k Ukops main had a buy in of £110. I played it and I can't ever recall paying £220 for an MTT on Sky. I have a sneaky feeling it might have eclipsed it's guarantee, but my memory is far from accurate!

Perhaps Sky can look at something on the back of the successful UKPC series....

I'm pretty sure the £40k broke the guarantee, 420 or so I think (can't be sure of this though) and I think I monthly or bi-monthly £220 Sunday Major would be a great idea.

Well I will donate £110 or £220. Sounds like a good idea to me!!

    Yes I said donate..... SIGH....

There used to be a £220 roller on a Sunday night.  It was axed when the scheduales were redone a while ago

Oh yeah, I know Sky have run £220 MTT's before. But I've never ponied up that amount for a seat on Sky, and I def played that £40k Ukops, so using my Sherlock skills it must have had a £110 BI ;)

They would get the numbers up if it were televised like the old days when we used to get 500+runners every week! There used to be 66 odd places paid and you could guarantee your money back if you cashed!
