ok guy is raising with rubbish and folding almost every hand I had played about 30 hands or so when this happened is it just luck on his behalf or was I over confident????

Pot-sized bet on flop? Seems big with second pair, though is draw heavy board I guess. I guess with such short stacks in with you nearly any sized is hard not to call a raise shove.

Turn: He only has £1 odd left. Did you notice the effective stacks in hand? Assume you did but turn bet was far more than he had left, which just seemed odd to me I guess. either way at the turn you aren't really going ot fold. You got it in good and lost on the redraw. Standard and just bad luck.

Rubbish play by villian and pointlessly playing 15bb too.
