Life after Sky - If you say you want to leave - do it!

Hi

Few weeks ago after not missing  sky tv show for months and seeing how the site has moved on - I made the decision that to improve my game and take to the next level I had to leave.

Seen a lot of people do the talk and slate Sky for the bad beats and unlikely runner runner outs that mean you get sucked out on, and we all know that the only true part of it all is that KK generally does play really really badly on Sky!  Otherwise  - thats poker!!

So having seen the shows devote more time to shoving pre losser and looser and covering only the late stages where it is shoving all the time - Is it a suprise that the level of play in MTT's has a culture of "Go hard or go home" which wil also mean that variance is higher.  I can not remember the the last time I watched some great poker play on the tv that did not invole late stage shovathon.  I was watching EPT Barcalona and how much I loved watching this series.  This is what poker on tv is all about!

So I now play in other sites (not here to big up another site so will not name) and after initially taking time to gt used to the format and look change (You have to stick with it) Have found I can now play my game and use a 4 bet of 5 bet bluff, slow play big hands and have really find my love of the game again!

So my message to all those that have just come on here to berate the format and the variance (me included) If you do feel that badly - stop playing - try other sites - grass is not always greener, and I will still try freerole into some MTT's and go to the live events, but there are other sites that run deeper stlye formats.  You will always be "Pushed" to play quicker on Sky - It's a TV poker site and they want to show the winners before midnight.

I wish everyone all the best!  I will still dabble - But I will not rant and rave - Actions Speak louder than words!

Not sure what this post is about really. Bad beats are a part of poker live with it as there is never as much in it as you think.

Sky poker tends to play 6 player tables this means you need to be more aggressive. They also play a lot of bounty hunters, this also benifits those that are more aggressive, as you re more likey to collect bounties, as long as you relise you are also more likely to get knocked out early. I played online poker before Sky poker existed, When it first started they tried to arrange it would finish before Midnight, now hardly any do. Unfortunately in my opinion you miss out the stage of manouvering for the final table. I play here for fun, if it ceases to be fun I will go elsewhere, if I can't find anywhere that I find it fun to play poker then I shall take up something else like Knitting.

One factor he never mentioned i'm sure is Sky is 6 max and these other 'superior' sites play 9/10 handed. It is a well known fact that 6 max is more aggressive form (so mroe marginal hands doing battle) and an abc approach just wont be as succesful as on 10 handed when you can easily wait for big hands.

Also, I used to struggle on 6 max tables a long time ago when I was succesful at 10 handed but now I have found I am far better at both having played many more hands AND the added advantage being that on FT's (10 handed) when we get short handed my edge improves as players are knocked out as I am more used to playing with fewer players.

I love the sky/online berators. Just google bad beats on YouTube and you will see just as many sick hands/beats as live!

PS If everyone won with the best hand than this would be a pretty boring game!

another troll making a huge fuss for attention, ok you are playing elsewhere big deal, most of us play on a whole load of different sites so this is nothing new, maybe phone up the daily star and see if they are interested in ur story cos i doubt anybody on here is!! i can 100% guarentee though that u are telling a pack of lies, if ur useless at poker a change of site does not help ur causes and that boy is reality. deal with it!!!

Always makes me laugh when people say there leaving Sky or have left Sky.

Such attention seekers, the majority of them are something like "Just a quick note to say im leaving sky..goodbye!" and then they spend the next 3 days replying to everyones post.
