anonymous names?!

I played on a site over the weekend where you could play on 'anonymous tables' every player was named anon1, anon2, anon3 etccc

never seen this before, i understand why their doing it but cant see any fun in it at all!?

I like playing against certain regs on here as Im sure their happy to see my name on a table when they join ;)

Hope sky don't go down that road !

    I think it is a great idea, definitely not for all forms of poker but having a few annonymous cash tables and a few annonymous tournaments would be pretty fun i think

    Anon HU tables would be a good idea to limit the bum-hunting that goes on. But in general it's bad because poker is all about reads and if everyone is anon then it means you have to play on a table for a good 30 mins before you gather any reads. and then as soon as you/they leave your reads are gone for ever and pointless.

    I think if used sparingly, this could prove quite popular, its abit of a leveller, you would definetly lose the bum hunters which is great for poker in thelong term.
    You could have anonomus cash games, tournies etc but also, have other parts of the site with recognised names. I agree with ivanovic post, poker is all about reads, but a better poker player will be using optimum strategy and able to gather reads a lot quicker than poorer players.
